Every Superhero needs a Sidekick!

At 15 weeks pregnant today I thought it time I share the fact that we are expecting a little sidekick for Monkey early May 2016!

Every Superhero needs a Sidekick pregnancy announcement

It’s been difficult keeping our news out of social media, espically once we had seen Pip (babys nickname) on the screen at the 12 week scan. As you would expect its been occupying my mind a lot so it’s also been a bit of a struggle to write posts which are not pregnancy related. There will be some coming in the following days which explains our story to date and will make up for it.

Unfortunately this pregnancy will not be as smooth sailing as it was when we had Monkey as I have since been diagnosed with sticky blood or Antiphospholipid Syndrome. It does meant that in order to increase the chances of a successful pregnancy I need to take certain drugs. Because of this I have struggled with making decisions around revealing our happy news incase the worst should happen. However it’s starting to become obvious in photos and I’m reading a lot of other pregnancy related posts and not being able to comment properly so have decided to come clean!

The sign from the photo above I made using a cheap chalk board and some chalk pens. Since Monkey had a Superhero party last weekend it seemed the ideal excuse to get some photos. He’s not so sure on the idea of having a baby brother or sister at all at the moment – not wanting to share his toys! I am sure he will come round though, after all he’s got 25 weeks to get use to the idea!

Congratulations Clare, this is fantastic news! I’m sure Monkey will love his future brother or sister. It is tricky when they start messing up toy set ups but there’s a little while until that happens ๐Ÿ™‚ I hadn’t heard of sticky blood before. I’m glad there are medicines you can take for it & I wish you the best of luck & health for your pregnancy xx

congratulations!! How exciting for you all! Will you be on heparin? I had a DVT with a previous pregnancy and so had to inject for the whole of my last one. It really did take it out of me and made me so cold. I felt very sorry for myself. But it did make me take much better care of myself whilst pregnant, knowing that I had to!!
