‘You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Kahlil Gibran

Oh my goodness what has happened to this week? Its been manic, its funny how one thing out of the normal routine can mean that I drop a lot of balls. And thats whats happened this week. World book day I am sure was invented just to make parents lives difficult. I remember thinking last year oh it will be lovely to pick a book and make an outfit…yes until I returned to work. Thankfully our school has the foresight to make it a Friday. Nevertheless I spent the evening this week making a space helmet for Monkey. Which meant a lot of my blogging to do list is still just that! He loved it though so I guess thats the main thing! Next year I think I maybe a bit less ambitious and encourage an easier choice of book.

In Kippers nine month update I mentioned that he has not been very well for a few weeks now. I am hopeful that we have found out why and that he is now on the mend. Although we are still waiting the referral paediatrician and associated blood tests. I think by the time we get it he will have been poorly for one fifth of his little life. Not that this is stopping him, in some ways I think the recent weight loss has meant that he is now moving more. This week he managed to actually pull himself up, I was a little panicked as his activity cube is not heavy enough for him to pull himself up on. Hence the reason he’s not smiling in this photo as I was flapping trying to decide if I could get away with a photo to record the milestone before he ended back up on his bottom! All the time Kipper was watching me as if to say…what?!

  1. Oh wow, what a fantastic book day outfit!! I always do the ‘do I have time to capture this before I rescue him/her’ dilemma haha.. what a lovely photo 🙂 xx

  2. I’m so impressed that you made that space helmet, it looks amazing! And love the story behind the photo of Kipper, there is that look on his face of, ‘what’s the problem Mummy?!’. x #LivingArrows

  3. What an awesome costume, well done on making it, its very impressive! I gave up on making costumes for Riley after I went back to work, not enough hours in the day! x #Livingarrows

  4. I’m seriously so impressed with the spaceman outfit – you’re really talented! I hope you get a proper answer for Kipper soon, but in the meantime that photo is just adorable! You’re right, the look is totally ‘and what?’! #livingarrows

  5. How awesome does Monkey look as a spaceman?! Troy would LOVE that outfit – it doesn’t look homemade at all. Well done! Oh poor little Kipper, I hope he’s on the mend soon x

  6. Nice to read there’s light at the end of Kipper’s tunnel. I am dreading World Book Day – I’m sure we didn’t have this when we were kids? J starts school in Sept so I am sure I’m going to get caught up in the madness (I’ll be the one at the shop the night before haha!) #LivingArrows

  7. I agree! A Friday is so sensible!!! Plus children can change their minds…which can be nightmarish. That helmet is truly fantastic. He really looks brilliant, and I hope you get some direction with your littlest soon. It’s awful being worried about them and not knowing what is wrong #LivingArrows xx
