‘You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

I am determined to make the most of the Summer holidays despite the fact that I am having to work for a good proportion of it. So when Friday came round this week I had a list of three Summer activities to do with the boys. Monkey had spent the week at his grandparents and consequently was much more obliging when it came to having his photo taken. So the first thing on my list was to hit the Lavender Fields at Mayfield. Looking back at my Living Arrows posts photos of the boys in the Lavender have appeared for the last two years – 30/52 {2017} and 29/52 {2018}. Seems I have started a tradition without realising it.

With Kipper now being three and not really wanting to pose for photos of course I have had to make do with what I can manage. So we didn’t end up with any photos of the three of us which are worth sharing. Instead I managed to capture this one of the two of them in cahoots about something. I do wonder what they were talking about.

The photo of Monkey was one he asked for and posed for. Recently I look at photos of him and he looks so much older to me. I did mange to get one of Monkey and I together. I think I have about twenty photos of the three of us where not everyone is looking at the camera at the same time.

I chose the photo of Kipper because he is being cheeky. He has a scab on his chin from falling over at nursery on Thursday. We had two separate accident forms to sign! I am still at a bit of a loss as to where the blonde hair comes from. In this photo it looks white blonde because of the sun. I hope he keeps it, but I have a feeling he will go dark just like the rest of us at some point.

i’m hoping to take the girls to a lavender field at some point, unfortunately the weather isn’t looking great for the week ahead so may have to wait a little longer

Fabulous photos . as always. You set a high benchmark when it comes to family photos, far higher than I can aim for but the ideas do help!

  4. Yes, Monkey seems to have grown recently. A particularly lovely photo of him at the top. Actually, a lovely set of photos of all of you.. I have visited the lavender fields in Norfolk and was transfixed by their beauty and fragrance. I will investigate Mayfield for a visit, too.

  5. I love this tradition of yours! Monkey is looking SO grown up and Kipper sounds like a typical three year old! x

  6. These are lovely pictures – that one of you and Monkey is beautiful, he looks so much like you! We’ve never been to lavender fields, they always look amazing. #LivingArrows
