Eighth Birthday Questionnaire: I have been doing a Birthday Questionnaire for Monkey for the last eight years. It’s a great way for me to remember the little things that make him who he is. I remember writing last year that his tastes had started to change. That he was growing up quickly. However this year I feel that they are even more different. Verging on the mood swings I associate with the teenage years it will not be long until he is officially a tween. The recent lockdown has not been easy for him and he’s been missing his friends. At least hs still agrees to these posts. Hopefully, I have a few more years yet.
Eighth Birthday Questionnaire
What is your favourite colour? – Still Gold, add in Silver and Bronze too. I wonder if he will be into some sort of jewellery related career when he’s older?
What is your favourite toy? – Nintendo Switch (same as last year)
What is your favourite fruit? – Melon, pineapple, peach, plum, strawberries, raspberries and cherries. It’s hard to make a decision (he says looking at the fruit bowl). Probably if I have to choose its Honeydew Melon
What is your favourite TV show? – Harry Potter – we have finally got him to watch the first and second movies and he loved them
Harry Potter UK Filming Destinations Bucket List
What is your favourite thing to eat for lunch? – Smoked salmon, smashed avocado on soda bread…
What is your favourite outfit? – West Ham Kit
What is your favourite game? – Monopoly (no change from last year) – it is the Ultimate Banking Edition which makes it easy for kids to play independently.
Where is your favourite food? – Eating out at the Giggling Squid, daddy’s famous family trifle – well anything that daddy cooks, to be honest.
What is your favourite animal? – Alfie the cat and George my parent’s dog
What is your favourite song? – Sucker for Pain or Monster by Imagine Dragons… (same as last year) And still has a soft spot for Katie Perry and Roar.
The next 10 Questions…
What is your favourite book? – Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets which is what he is reading now.
Who is your best friend? – Holly and my brother half the time. (This is a hard one as he’s hardly seen anyone for the last four months because of lockdown).
What is your favourite sport? – Football and Hockey
What is your favourite thing to do outside? – Riding my bike – especially when Mummy and I go out on our own
What is your favourite drink? – Virgin Strawberry Daquiri – which he had for the first time at Potters Resorts.
What was your favourite holiday? – Efteling which we were lucky to get to before the COVID outbreak in February this year.
What do you like to take to bed with you? – Bear Bear (same as last year)
What is your favourite thing to eat for breakfast? – Egg sarnie and my special (Granola yogurt with fruit)
What do you want for dinner on your birthday? – We had a take out curry from Aksha and boats (soft-shelled tacos)
What do you want to be when you grow up? – A YouTuber – he got a super cheap version of a GoPro for his birthday so I am now wondering what I have started…

Class ! Love the thoughts of a king 8 year old
I have read about these birthday questionnaires and think they are a fabulous record for the future. I can’t think of anything you have missed. I look forward to reading next year’s questionnaire!
I think this is a great idea and something that will be fun to look back on in the future.
I wonder if the Nintendo Switch really is his favourite or the answer his friends would give and find acceptable. With our boys, who are somewhat older, when you ask further questions it is a particular game that the peer group esteem and then a particular platform that is regarded as best for that game.
Monkey is growing up fast that’s a good list. He makes a good Harry Potter
I love the idea of the birthday questionnaire!! going to give this a go!
I think you’ve pretty well covered everything
