‘You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Well, I am already fed up with the wet weather that we have been having!  For the second weekend in a row now it has been horrid and it is interfering with our plans.  We have wet weather gear but I really don’t like being out in the rain.   The boys on the other hand are not that bothered.  This week’s photos are from our annual pumpkin picking outing.

I had booked for us to go to a pumpkin picking place on Sunday. Having looked at the forecast when I booked it was meant to clear up in the afternoon. Although by the time we left home it was apparent that it wasn’t going to happen. But they really wanted to go and since we had paid for tickets I  reluctantly agreed.  The only bonus of going in the rain was that it was practically empty. And with the fact its the first week the boys had the pick of the patch.

They had been given clear instructions not to go mad and were only allowed one each. Since we are also trying to grow some in the back garden.  Harry quickly picked out a lovely large green and orange one which was the perfect pumpkin shape. Charlie on the other hand had his heart set on a white one.  But couldn’t find one to his liking. Then he saw all the little gords at the exit and ended up picking out a couple  (read half a dozen). All different colours and most with lumps and bumps.   I have promised next year we will try to grow some.

  1. Oh bless them! I’m not a big fan of being out in the rain either – it looks like your boys managed to make the most of their visit to the pumpkin patch though 🙂

  2. You have been unlucky with the weather the past week down South. I hope you’ve enjoyed your trip away this weekend? x

  3. I am like you – more of a fairweather person. But children just love being outside, whatever the weather don’t they? x

The rain doesn’t seem to have bothered them too much
