AD – Review easy meals with SimplyCook is a sponsored post I have been compensated for my time
Review SimplyCook Meals. As a busy working mum I am always on the hunt for new ways of cooking which are simple and quick, yet tasty. On a normal day we have about an hour to get the kids from their after school clubs, do any outstanding homework (there is always some), feed them and get them to bed. As Charlie’s school does not have a canteen we always cook a hot meal and we all eat together. It is a challenge and one that we have been grateful not to have to do during the pandemic. But as things start to open up again and we start to travel again for work then the usual rush in the evenings will come back. However, I now have a secret weapon to help in the daily juggling act. I have discovered SimplyCook.
Who are SimplyCook?
If you have not come across SimplyCook before they are a meal subscription service. But unlike others in the market, they provide only herbs and spices. This means that they can fit through the letterbox, great if you are a working parent away from home a lot. They also have much longer expiration dates. This works well for us as it gives the flexibility to cook what we fancy when we fancy rather than being conscious of things going out of date. Or normally in our case realising too late and ending up having to substitute certain ingredients as they are not rescuable.
They also have over 100 recipes to choose from. Avaliable in either two or four servings each recipe on the website tells you how long it will take to prepare. Which is invaluable because of our time restrictions during the week. It also gives an indication of how spicy it is and each is categorised by keywords. Such as vegan or low calorie. You can filter recipes by the number of servicing, dietary requirements, allergens and the main ingredient.
Our Experience with SimplyCook
We ordered four different recipes including Creamy Honey Mustard Chicken. I opted for this as both boys enjoy chicken and it is served with mashed potato. Harry’s favourite side. Our kit arrived quickly and I was delighted to find recipe cards included. The recipe card is simple to follow with clear instructions so even if you are not the most confident cook you will still be able to serve up a delicious meal.
Our recipe came with three flavour pots that we added to the recipe when directed. It really took the stress out of cooking as we did not need to worry about preparing complicated ingredients. It was nice not to have to rummage at the back of the spice cupboard looking for something that we thought we had. But it turned out we didn’t. Instead you just simply add the flavour pots at the specified point. It really is as simple as that!
One of the benefits I have discovered with SimplyCook is that when we are meal planning we do not end up with the same meals week in week out. We were all very impressed with the meal with clean plates all around. Restaurant quality food in twenty-five minutes!

SimplyCook Special Offer
If you would like to try out SimplyCook for yourself. Then you will be pleased to know that they run a special offer where you can order your first box of four recipes for £3 instead of the usual £9.99. It is a subscription service but it is possible to cancel at any time. Or change the frequency of your deliveries by logging into your account.
Another is price. Their recipes usually cost between £3 and £6 per person per meal including the kit and the fresh ingredients. This is down to the fact that they provide short shopping lists. Finding this often works out at 1/3 or less the cost of following similar recipes in recipe books.
I can not wait to make our next order with so many dishes to choose from it is difficult to narrow it down to just four. There are so many that we want to try.
Have you tried SimplyCook before I would love to hear about your experiences in the comments below

This simply cook recipe subscription service sounds great especially if your not sure what to have for dinner one week to the next 🙂
Sounds like they have a good number of recipes to choose from. Great to hear it’s restaurant quality too.
These look a great alternative to eating out and a good way to try new dishes!
I have heard of SimplyCook Meals and so many people rave about them. I think I need to give them a try. The food looks and sounds delicious x
The Mexican chicken sounds particularly nice.
I hadn’t heard of this subscription service before. It sounds great! I love that they only send the flavours which fit through the letter box.
This simply cook recipe subscription service is great for spices and dinner recipe ideas 🙂
This is certainly something I would like to try, I’m all for making life easier
oh nice and simple cooking , sounds great to me
These simplymeals sound great and take away the stress of deciding what to cook at dinner time 🍽️
An interesting approach to food subscription. Most of us have bottles of herbs and spices at the back of the cupboard that have only been used once or twice. Very wasteful. Most of us also default to the same dozen or so family meals. Very boring.
This looks good. Thanks for the review.
I’m always looking for new ideas because we don’t like eating the same thing week in week out
I have tried simply cook before and absolutely loved them, they have some really nice meal options that are easy to make.

This is such a great idea I am such a bad cook so I could definitely do with something like this to try out different meals.
