Center Parcs France – Restaurants

When we visited Les Villages Nature Paris a Center Parcs in France near Paris and a Disneyland Paris hotel. The first question I had was – do I need to book the restaurants? Having previously visited Center Parcs in the UK I knew that mealtimes could be a bit of a free for all. Of course, this information was not forthcoming. Center Parcs France offers self-catering accommodation with your own kitchen that comes fully equipped. So you may only choose to eat out once or twice for the duration of your stay, at one of the onsite restaurants. Maybe even less if you are also planning on a meal at Disneyland Paris. In which case you want to make sure those couple of meals out are good ones. Especially after taking part in all the outdoor activities and enjoying the water slides. So I thought I would share our experience of eating out in the Restaurants at Center Parcs France.

Booking Restaurants

We visited Villages Nature Paris during the UK May half term. I think most of the holidaymakers at the Center Parcs Disneyland Paris resort were British and it was definitely not at capacity. Consequently, it felt as though we did not need to book restaurants. This definitely seemed to be the case the majority of the time. Although the Monday evening when we arrived was busy as no one could be bothered to cook after a long drive. The Pizza restaurant – Vapiano does seem to get much busier than the others. Which I find odd as I think the food (and most definitely the service) is much better in all the other restaurants. When we visited it was not possible to book the restaurants via the app. It was possible to do it over the phone or via the Welcome House and if you are a larger family then I would recommend this. Regardless of how busy the resort is. There is a good choice of restaurants to choose from.

Center Parcs App & Restaurants

The Les Villages Nature Paris app is really handy and I would recommend that you download this using the free wi-fi. It contains the opening hours for all the restaurants on site. Which may be needed. As when we visited several of the were only open at lunchtime which seemed a bit odd on the basis that it only left a couple for dinner time! Many of the menus are also available on the app so for picky eaters, you can make the decision before you arrive. And almost all of them have daily specials.

Pricing

Having spent a couple of nights in central Paris before we arrived at our Center Parcs in France. I would suggest that the meals are well priced in comparison. Being a captive audience as such you would think that prices may reflect that. Although at the moment with the GBP and euro exchange rates eating out is never going to be cheap. We found that the restaurants offered reasonable prices. I have tried to give an indication of the budget below. When you book it is possible to book a meal voucher or dining options for adults and teenagers at 19.50€. This gives you either lunch or dinner in one of the restaurants. Depending on where you choose to eat this could save you more money. The restaurants are all independent businesses and effectively rent space from Center Parcs and the Disneyland Paris Hotel. So for the chain restaurants, you are effectively getting what you would get anywhere else. It does mean that they may change in the future. 

Restaurant Cepages 

This was probably our favourite restaurant during our stay. It is located in the centre of the Lakeside Promenade like many of the others. It looks quite big from the outside but it is much smaller than expected once through the door. We were lucky to get a table on our first night around 6 pm only having to wait a few minutes. The wine bar also offers wine tasting on Wednesdays and Saturdays although you do not have to wait until then to enjoy a glass of wine. I liked the deco and the ambience. The menu was okay, it was a little limited with a choice of four starters and five mains or desserts. Mainly different traditional dishes the food was delicious. Expect to spend around 40€ for three courses. 

They also have a number of sharing boards which are designed to be eaten while enjoying the varied wine list. A kids meal costs 12€ and includes a main and a dessert. Like many places we have eaten in, in France, they have steak hash. Similar to a large beef burger but they have a tendency to undercook it for UK kid’s tastes. So that it is still very pink in the middle. There were quite a few left on plates during our visit. So best t ask for it well done. The restaurant also offers a takeaway wine menu (by the bottle) and a deli. Only open for evening meals.

Les Délices de la Ferme

This was a very close second. Especially when we found out from the very nice staff that they had only been open for a couple of weeks. Located next to Bellevie Farm and right next to the huge indoor play area. The restaurant offers a three-option set menu focusing on healthy food, which was for lunch only when we visited. Although I think it is open for longer over the Summer months. They can also supply vegan options which are not mentioned on the menu a great opportunity to try new flavours. The menu costs 23€ for two courses or 28€ for three including gourmet desserts. The children’s menu is available for children up to the age of 11. For 12€ you can choose a main with two sides, a dessert and a drink. 

The restaurant is also open for a buffet breakfast in the morning from 8 am to 10 am. This costs 14.50€ for adults and 8€ for children. The quality of the food was extremely good. Many of the seasonal produce and ingredients have either been grown in the vegetable garden or reared on site or sourced locally. The restaurant itself is slightly larger and full of big windows and they sell a great selection of soft drinks, I can recommend the ginger lemonade. 

Miam Miam Burger

The burger bar is located on the lakeside promenade. When we visited it was only open at lunchtime which is a real shame as the burgers are absolutely delicious. They are also pretty big and so would be far better as an evening meal. Offering a selection of five different burgers with various sides to share. The delicious homemade burgers come with chips and are priced at around 17€. A kids menu for 12€ is available which is steak hash or chicken nuggets. As well as delicious smoothies they also offer a selection of milkshakes and desserts (5€). It is a relaxed setting and the staff were super friendly and helpful. 

Creperie Suzette

Another restaurant we visited for lunch discovered that they had some very good value meal deals. Offering both galettes (savoury crepes) and sweet crepes that make great desserts. There is something for everyone. Their menu is not as limited as some of the other restaurants on site. For the children’s menu, they can choose both a classic galette and a classic crepe. The classic ones tend to include fewer flavour combinations but were still happily received by the boys. The adult menu deal costs 19.50€ and includes your choice of a savoury and sweet crepe from the gourmet menu. Plus a side salad. The gourmet options have more complex flavours with more ingredients, such as the Italian one below. The really great thing about this restaurant is that they provide a child-friendly menu for kids ages three and under for free. We really enjoyed our meal and I can recommend adding the extra scoop of ice cream to anything sweet.

Vapiano

This is the only restaurant that we found disappointing during our stay at Villages Nature Paris. The service was terrible. It was open for most of the day but we chose to arrive before the early evening rush. As it seemed to get busy around six with people queuing out of the doors. Despite there being tables available. We wanted to sit outside, as there are a few tables in the shade in front of the restaurant. These were all busy but looked as though they were starting to think about leaving. They were not very happy that we wanted to wait. But wait we did. Ordering is done via a QR code and it took over half an hour for them to bring a bottle of wine. However, this was before their busy period. 

I found the waiting staff were nowhere near as friendly as we had experienced in all the other restaurants. In fact, they were borderline rude. Our starter and main course came at the same time. And we really struggled to get them to give us the boys dessert which came as part of their meal. It is the longest-established restaurant at Center Parcs France and I wonder if they have had a monopoly until now. The food was distinctly average. The pizza dough was very sweet, too sweet really. You can also get a takeaway. The kid’s menu is a choice of Spaghetti Bolognese or pizza with the chocolate mouse or apple compote for dessert. It costs 9€ and comes with a drink but is only for children up to the age of 10. A pizza off the main menu costs from 12.40€ up to 17.50€. There is also a wide range of pasta dishes within a similar price range. The takeaway is also available. 

My advice is to arrive early which will give you the best chance of getting served. We did not leave until around 9 pm… it took that long!

Alternative snack bars

There are several other places where you can pick up a bite to eat at Center Parcs Disneyland Paris. These are more snack bars than restaurants. Inside the Aqualagon water park, there is a snack bar which sells snack-style hot dogs and burgers ideal after time in the wave pool. When we visited this closed in the middle of the afternoon, there was a little bit of seating and a meal cost around 10€. There was also a bar at the bowling alley in front of the bowling lanes. This sold a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as sandwiches and ice cream.

The bakery – Boulangerie Chez Meunier bakery also sells pastries and is a great place to stop for a hot drink. It is also possible to pre-order breakfast from the bakery. And they will deliver breakfast direct to your cottage, failing that they are open from 7.30 am. Finally, if you are after a sweet treat then there is Yummy a little tent, that sells sweet snacks of ice cream and waffles at the side of the lake. Not to forget the supermarket which has a great cheese selection and other fresh ingredients for meals at the cottage.

As you can see there are a lot of options when it comes to food and we had a great time trying them all out. The majority of which is well priced, delicious with very good service.
