We always look forward to Guy Fawkes Night. Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot. The 5th of November was my grandfather’s birthday and Charlie’s namesake. So it always holds a special place in our hearts. If you are looking for some of the best displays in central London this year for kids. I have pulled together ten of the best firework displays in London for families. If you think that I am missing a family-friendly event or any bonfire night events in London for kids that deserve a mention. The Best Firework Displays in London with kids on Bonfire Night 2023

Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival 

  • Date – Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th November
  • Where – Alexandra Palace, Alexandra Palace Way, London N 22 7AY
  • Tickets – Adult entry for the fireworks starts at £17 per person. Family tickets are available. 
  • Can combine with the German Bier festival. 
  • On Friday 3 and Saturday 4 November, you will get the chance to enjoy foot-stomping live music, and a taste of Bavaria at the UK’s largest German Bier Festival with sets from tribute acts Joel Coombes: Elton John and Rogue Minogue: Kylie. Plus legendary DJ sets in the StrEATlife Village courtesy of none other than Fat Tony and DJ Spoony. Along with the street food stalls. 
  • This is such a great event for adults, children, and families. The Saturday has an earlier start time of 4 pm 
  • Enjoy mind-blowing light show from Lords of Lightning, a whizz around the ice disco, and, last but not least, lighting up the London night sky.

Wimbledon Park Bonfire Fireworks Display

  • Date – Saturday 4th November
  • Where – Wimbledon Park, Home Park Rd, London SW19 8AU
  • Tickets – Advance sales tickets start at £10.70. Child and family tickets are available. 
  • Parking is limited and so it is recommended to travel to the event using public transport. 
  • The best thing about this annual event is there are two displays, one suitable for younger children and then a louder main display taking place later in the evening.  Making this a perfect firework display in London for kids. This is a smaller event than its twin (below). The first bonfire will be lit at 6.30 pm with the children’s fireworks and then the second main event at 8.30 pm. The evening finishes at 10 pm.
  • There are fairground rides for the kids, a bar serving hot food and drink and also some stalls. It is a great event and perfect for families.

The Best Firework Displays in London on Bonfire Night

Morden Park Fireworks and Bonfire Night 

  • Date – Sunday 5th November 
  • Where – Lower Morden Lane, Morden SM4
  • Tickets – Advance sales tickets start at £10.70. Child and family tickets are available. 
  • This is a big event with bonfires, different fireworks displays and entertainment for the whole family. 
  • This is the sister event to the Wimbledon Park event and so has a similar lineup in terms of fireworks displays and entertainment. You have the fireworks display earlier in the evening that has a magical theme suitable for younger children. The later fireworks display is fun and exciting and is much louder than the first. The theme this year is one-hit wonders. You will also find a fun fair, food stalls, and a bar serving up drinks. This is a great event that everyone will have fun attending.

Chiswick Park Fireworks Extravaganza

  • Date – Thursday 2nd November 
  • Where – 566 Chiswick Park, London W4 5NG
  • Tickets – With free entry you still need to secure your tickets online in advance. You can only book up to four tickets at a time, but be quick as it is a popular event and sells out with local families. Children under five do not require a ticket. There are no tickets for sale at the door. They are supporting Shooting Star Children’s Hospice and although the tickets are free, donations are encouraged with 100% going straight to the charity. At the time of writing, the bad news is that they had already sold out.
  • The free fireworks and live entertainment perfect for everyone to enjoy
  • You can head to the annual Chiswick Park Fireworks Extravaganza in west London for live music, fire performers, seasonal food and more. This spectacular fireworks display at Chiswick Business Park is set to music and there will also be delicious street food and drink available. 
  • There is also a charity fire walk taking place to raise money, in order to take part you need to book in advance. This can also be done on the link below.

Battersea Park Fireworks 

  • Date – 4th and 5th of November, this is a two-day event
  • Where – South London SW11 4NJ
  • Tickets – Tickets need to be purchased online with the ticket price starting at £12.30 per adult ticket
  • This is a two-day event with something for everyone looking to enjoy bonfire night celebrations. 
  • The Saturday night promises to be an event like no other with a spectacular firework display to music, as well as plenty of food and drink stalls to keep you full and satisfied in the Bonfire Village. Which will stay open until 11 pm. 
  • The Sunday night is more family-focused making it a great firework display in London for kids. Although children are welcome to attend on Saturday. There are lots of children’s activities for you to enjoy including a Bluey and Bingo show on repeat at this bonfire night event. The WhizzBang Wonderland is where you go for all the fun things before and after the fireworks main show at 7.10 pm. There are also funfair rides for the kids to enjoy.
  • There is no parking other than a small amount of disabled parking, so needs to be reached by public transport.

Beckenham Fireworks in the Park

  • Date – Saturday 4th of November 
  • Where – located in Croydon Road Recreation Ground – 50 Village Way, Beckenham BR3 3NP
  • Tickets – This event is ticketed and you can purchase tickets online in advance. There are no tickets available at the gate. Prices start at £15 for an adult, £5 for a child with under 4 being free. 
  • This fireworks night display has two shows. 
  • Beckenham Fireworks in the Park is a family-friendly fireworks display that has been running since 1946.  There is a quieter display at 6 pm with fireworks for smaller children that have small bangs so as not to startle them. Making it a great choice for bonfire night in London kids.  There is also the main fireworks display at 7.45 pm.  
  • Both displays are set to music which makes them incredibly engaging and fun to watch. You can buy food and drink on-site with twenty different food stalls. There is plenty to enjoy while you are there. A great family event.

Barnes Sports Club Fireworks

  • Date – Saturday 4th of November 
  • Where – The Club House, 261 Lonsdale Road, London SW 13 9QL
  • Tickets – Barnes bonfire night is a ticketed event where you will need to purchase tickets online. Prices start at £16.50 per adult ticket. Family tickets are available. 
  • You can take part in the “Best Guy” competition. Details can be found on the website. 
  • Head to leafy Barnes in south west London for the annual display at Barnes Sports Club. Alongside a traditional bonfire and fireworks display, there’s a “Best Guy” competition, BBQ, bar and music from a DJ. Last year visitors could purchase glow-in-the-dark toys and sparklers for a fun bonfire night with the family. There will be a traditional bonfire, hot mulled wine, real ale, a large bar, BBQ selling hot dogs and burgers and a spectacular firework display.

Ealing Cricket Club Fireworks Display

  • Date – Saturday 4th of November 
  • Where – Ealing Cricket Club, Corfton Road, Ealing W5 2HS
  • Tickets – These can be purchased in advance, or brought by card on the gate. Prices are more expensive on the day and no family tickets are available. In advance tickets cost £27 for a family, £9.50 for an adult and £5.50 for a child. Under 5s are free. 
  • The fireworks display has a Best Of British theme and promises to be epic bonfire night in London. 
  • Parking is limited so it is advised to use public transport to attend this event as just a short walk from Ealing Broadway.
  • Music, live band, laser show, pyrotechnics you can expect a bonfire night extravaganza at the Ealing Cricket Club fireworks display. Raising money for the cricketing community in the local area. This West London Bonfire Night also includes candy floss, kids’ rides and family entertainment. The food options are endless with a BBQ, pizza, popcorn stalls, and even hot dogs, samosas and curries. You can also enjoy plenty of drinks in the bar. Card only event.

Brent and Harrow Fireworks Display

  • Date – Saturday 4th of November
  • Where – Byron Park, Peel Road, Harrow HA3 7QX
  • Tickets – You can buy tickets online, these start at £10 for an adult (+£2 booking fee) and £8 for a child. Family tickets are available and offer a discount. 
  • Enjoy two celebrations in one at the Brent and Harrow fireworks display in Byron Park. When both Diwali and Guy Fawkes Day share centre stage on Bonfire Night. You will be able to enjoy a thrilling display of fireworks, plus a funfair and a variety of food and drink outlets. There is a lot to see and do at this event with a lot of detail on the web

Kempton Park Racecourse Fireworks

  • Date – Saturday 4th of November 
  • Where – Staines Road, Sunbury-on-Thames TW16 5AQ
  • Tickets – These need to be purchased online and start from £10 per person, with children under the age of 4 free.  
  • Heart FM’s Toby Anstis will be evening playing a Club Classics set filled with dance floor bangers with fireworks starting at 7.30pm
  • Experience one of the biggest firework displays in west London at Kempton Park Racecourse. You’ll find thrilling rides, DJ sets, warming food and a themed firework display set to top tunes, which are sure to impress.
