AD Gifted – We were gifted a one hour party in return for this blog post a review of Non-Stop Kids Entertainment.

Review Non-Stop Kids Entertainment – If you are regular readers of Mudpie Fridays then you will know that Monkey recently turned eight. It was our second birthday during lockdown but with Monkey being that much older all he wanted to do was to see his friends. Yet in the current environment, a traditional party just isn’t possible. So when Non-Stop Kids Entertainment got in touch to see if we would like to review one of their virtual parties I jumped at the chance.

Who are Non-Stop Kids Entertainment?

Cannock-based NonStop Kids normally delivers around 8,000 children’s parties a year across the UK through a network of over 100 entertainers, also working for corporate clients including Drayton Manor and Cirque du Soleil.

In reaction to COVID-19, the company first developed a Virtual Party package, catering for up to 100 children at a time, after being approached by a corporate client to provide a solution in support of its staff working from home. Virtual parties use Zoom technology so that the entertainer can interact with all the children taking part and involve a mixture of magic, songs, and games tailored to the age group of each individual party.

Our experience

As Monkey is a huge Harry Potter fan we opted for an hours party which included a magic show. Along with some teaching to do some basic tricks.  Non-Stop Kids Entertainment provided an electronic video invite that I sent around to Monkeys friends. Along with the zoom dial-in details. We could invite up to 100 friends and family who can be anywhere in the world!

A few days before I also received a list of things that the children needed to have to hand to take part in the magic tricks. they were all things that you have round the house, such as an envelope, piece of paper, pencil, string, etc. Each party has its own password so you don’t need to worry about other people joining.

There were five minutes at the start of the party for the kids to say hello to each other and we had ten minutes as the end to say goodbye. Which was a nice touch as it meant they could interact together as well as take part in the party.

We had Craig as a party entertainer and he started on a very bouncy note encouraging interaction with the children from the word go. I was very impressed by just how interactive the whole experience was. Often referring to the children by name and asking them to give him a thumbs up or put their hands up to get involved.

Learning magic tricks…

He started by demonstrating some magic tricks before moving onto showing the children how to do five of their own. The tricks he did were very clever and often right up close to the camera. Leaving us all wondering how they worked. Of course, he gave the game away with some of them. It was great fun watching Monkey and his friends figure out how to do them. We definitely got some insider magic circle information.

Although the children were on mute for the majority of the party they were encouraged to do learn the tricks. The Craig would open up to let one of them demonstrate what they have learned.  Monkey figured out how to make rubber bands jump from finger to finger which was quite impressive. Before moving onto two card tricks, magically turning four pieces of string into one as well as  playing with cups and paper balls.

My absolute favorite part of the party was when everyone sang happy birthday to Monkey. He was so happy with it, I really brought a tear to my eye!
