The Cotswold Confetti Fields in Wick, Pershore Worcester – What to expect

2022 UPDATE – Confetti Fields in Pershore Worcester. A couple of years ago I saw Instagram suddenly fill up with lots of beautiful photos of little ones in the flower fields of Cotswold Confetti fields. Instantly I wanted to take the boys. Yet by the time, I found out about the Confetti Fields they were over for that year. But I knew that I wanted to visit the Confetti flower field.

Our first visit was in 2018 when the boys asked what I would like for my birthday, I said I wanted a photo of them in a flower field in the South West of England. We had such a lovely time that I have since been back in 2020 and last year. Due to the virus, we had to book a time slot in advance. Being popular we found that the slots are limited so make sure you do it as soon as possible. And in 2020 for the first time, there is a time limit on how long you can stay. So now more than ever you need to make the most of your time at the Confetti Fields. The good news is at the moment there is no indication that there will be time slots in 2022 – yay!

What to expect when you visit the Pershore Confetti fields

A warning now, this post is pretty photo heavy. The confetti fields are actually made up of Delphiniums. In beautiful shades of white, pink, blues and purples. They are predominately planted in colour blocks so you will be able to get themed colour photos if you would like. The fields are run by the real flower petal confetti company, they make biodegradable natural confetti. Harvesting the flowers when they are in full bloom to make real flower confetti. The beautiful flower fields full of elegant delphinium flowers really is a spectacular sight.

Where are the Confetti Fields?

Based in Wick, Pershore the fields are open from late June to early July for a period of around ten days to two weeks. The actual dates change each year depending on the quality of the flowers and the impact of the weather. If you are looking for 2022 then make sure you keep an eye on the Confetti Fields website and social media channels. In 2021 it cost £6.50 each for adults and children over the age of five. Prices are not currently on the website for 2022 but I will be updating this post once they are available.

The first time we visited when the boys were tiny we stayed the night before as we are around 3 hours away so a bit far for a day trip. If you are thinking of doing the same then we stayed at the Premier Inn in Evesham. Which is a ten-minute drive away. The Confetti Fields in Pershore Worcester are in the middle of the countryside down a little lane. They are part of the Wyke Manor Estate. Instead of the brown signs, we all know and love the Confetti fields are signposted using yellow AA signs. It is best to follow these, as using the postcode WR10 3PA may take you through the village of Wick which the organisers want to avoid. 

Where to park at the Confetti Fields 

We arrived as they opened at 10 am, the carpark was already filling up. Thankfully it is huge and free. Albeit just a field and there are people on hand to help if needed and direct you to where to park. There is also a line of portaloos next to the car park which was a relief with the little people!

Confetti Fields what to expect

Essentially it is just a big field with lots of pretty flowers. The best photos we found were on the way in and out. Where they have multiple colours planted together. When we visited in 2021 there was also a wild flower field and later on in the year a sunflower field. After this, the planting reverts to one colour only. Please remember it is a crop so stick to the paths and avoid going too far into the flowers. As it will be made into confetti. 

At one end there is a viewing platform that allows you to see across the colourful fields from a height. Although there was a large queue by the time we made it round. Since it was close to 28 degrees we decided not to queue with the kids as there is little shade. When we visited in 2021 it was a lot cooler which made it much nicer to walk around. I would recommend taking a parasol if it is very hot as it was a much more pleasant experience. I also noticed more paths had been cut into the field so you could get a lot closer to the flowers and move through the middle. Making a great photo opportunity. Rather than just talking around the outside of the field, like we had on our first visit.

Be aware that the later in season you go they may start to pick some of the flowers. But it does not detract from these beautiful confetti fields.

Refreshments at the Confetti Fields

At the end, there is Confetti Cafe which is a couple of gazebos selling cake, soft drinks, tea/coffee, ice lollies and ice creams. Four drinks and two ice lollies came to £12 so pretty reasonable. You could also buy your own bunch of flowers for £10 and little bags of confetti for £4 each. Of course, I could not resist a bunch of flowers. But just be warned they are very tall! Many people had brought picnic rugs to sit on, but there is very little shade. There are a few hay bales to sit on but they are very popular.

Top tips for visiting the Cotswold Confetti fields

• The best time to visit is as early as possible. Arrive early to avoid the crowds, generally, weekdays will be less busy than the weekends. However, it is only open for a few days so you are not going to escape the crowds. Stay nearby if you have. along journey.
• We found the best place for photos at the entrance where the different colours of flowers are mixed. Unless of course, you are looking for block colour for Instagram. It is a popular location for photos so expect to see a lot of selfies going on.
• Think about the photos you want to take before you go and take props if necessary. If you are deemed a professional photographer then you need a special permit which yu need to arrange in advance.
• Think about clothing. If you are planning photos which is probably why you are going then pick simple and plain outfits so as not to detract from the photos
• Take water with you as when we visited it was very hot and the tent is a long way from the corner of the field to the refreshment tent for the little people. When we visited in 2021 we stopped at The Bell at Stow on the Wold on the way home.
• The only animals which are allowed are disability assistance dogs.
