On Saturday we headed to the London Stadium to see the new Marvel monster jam trucks live. Having had our first experience of the Monster Jam last summer we could not wait to meet the new Marvel monster trucks. As well as some additional trucks and familiar favorites such as Harry’s mighty Megalodon and the legendary Grave Digger.
Marvel Monster Jam Trucks Live
We arrived mid-afternoon for the live event, although if you are quick off the mark then you can also get tickets for the pit party in the morning. The pit party is not included in your event ticket and therefore needs to be brought separately. It allows you to get up close and personal with the Monster Trucks and some fan favorites. Meaning that they sell out quickly.
The full-throttle family fun show ran in the same way as before. The trucks are pitted against each other in three challenging rounds. It is the most action-packed motorsports experience the boys have been to and because of this they love every minute.
- Round One – Speed trials where two trucks are pitted against each other around the dirt tracks causing mud to go flying in every direction. Before one monster jam driver was crowned champion. At each end of the stadium, there is a large screen showing the results and leaderboard throughout the event.
- Round Two – Is technical skills, where each Monster jam truck takes its turn to show off some skills. To encourage crowd engagement you have the chance to award a score out of ten via a webpage. There is free wifi in the London Stadium, Harry in particular got really into this voting for his favourites.
- Round Three – Takes place after the interval. Freestyle competitions allow the drivers to choose their massive stunts to wow the crowds. I do think that some of the trucks were intent on being taken off by the JCBs. Since several tried numerous backflips adding to the four-wheel excitement. I think this is probably my favourite round and definitely kept you on the edge of your seat.
Which new Marvel Monster trucks did we see?
Of course, one of the reasons we wanted to see the monster trucks again was to see some of the marvel universe live. Appearing for the first time, in the form of the most amazing Marvel Monster Trucks ever. Harry in particular was so excited to see them. For our visit to Marvel Monster Jam Live the initial marvel-inspired lineup included:
- Thor Monster Jam Truck – which had a giant version of his mighty hammer on the back and the driver, Myranda Cozad wore a God of Thunder inspired suit.
- Iron Man Monster Jam Truck – could have been designed by Tony Stark himself. It even has its own iconic arc reactor design exactly like the sleek metal suit in the films and comic books.
- Spider-Man Monster Jam Truck – our favourite of the marvel super heroes the amazing spider-man. The Marvel Monster truck has its own gigantic spider icon on the back. The driver, Bernard Lyght had a suit of classic red and blue colors to match.
- Black Panther Monster Jam Truck – complete with its own majestic purple glow of wakandan vibranium and driven by Bari Musawwir
We had such an epic day watching the Marvel Monster Jam Live it is such a great day out for the whole family. Just remember the ear defenders for the little ones because it is quite loud. At the moment there are no more dates scheduled for the UK. Head over to the Monster Jam website and sign up for their newsletter to be notified of events as they are scheduled.
