Half term events in Surrey. February’s half-term holiday can be a bit hit-and-miss on the weather front and so we are always on the hunt for fun things to do. We are lucky that there are so many different activities over half term in Surrey and Sussex. With only a few days it can be difficult to decide what to do first. This is why I have pulled together a list of the best February half-term activities in Surrey for 2024.
Best February Half Term Activities in Surrey 2024
If you live in Surrey and you are looking for things to do over the February half term then we have you covered. When reading through if there are half-term activities locally or half term events in Surrey that I have not included here that you know of. And you think should be included then please mention them in the comments below and I will get them added.
Where possible I have included prices and details correct as of January 2023. However, some places may not have released all the information. So make sure you check the individual website before attending these brilliant February half term activities in Surrey.
Bocketts Farm Park
- What – There is so much going on at Brockets Farm as well as all the usual fun of soft play, small animal encounters, and outdoor play areas. They are running Farming Week over the February half term. With over 80 newborn lambs due, meet the shepherd session and birds of prey flying demonstrations. There will be fun and games with the Giggle Company live shows, a junior farm trail and a craft session. It promises to be a great day. Read more.
- When – The special farming week runs from the 10th of February through to the 18th of February.
- Where – Young Street, Fetcham, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 9BS.
- How much – You can book tickets online in advance, places are limited so this is recommended. Adults cost £17 each, children aged 3-17 years cost £18.50, and two-year-olds are slightly reduced at £16.50 each with free entrance for children under 2 years.
Chessington World of Adventures
- What – Chessington World of Adventures is running their special Zootastic half term events in Surrey. This is when the zoo is open only many theme parks are closed during the half term holidays. The theme park and the sealife centre will be closed. You will get to experience talks, feeds and a trail set to help you graduate to a Chessington Ranger. You’ll get to meet Asiatic Lions, Humboldt Penguins, Spider Monkeys, Asian Short Clawed Otters and many more. Read more.
- When – daily from the 10th to 18th of February running from 10 am to 3 pm.
- Where – Leatherhead Rd, Chessington KT9 2NE.
- How much – Tickets can be booked online in advance, under 3s are free, and tickets are from £14.

Hampton Court Palace
- What – There is a lot going on with an unforgettable visit to Henry VIII’s famous palace which makes it a great half term event in Surrey to visit with plenty of indoor activities. As you explore the famous Tudor palace and courtyards, you’ll overhear intriguing conversations. Meet characters of the court and help to decipher mysterious puzzles and codes. Will you be able to help the spymaster save Elizabeth, or will you be misled by cunning conspirators? Visit the Great Hall, and Haunted Gallery in the State Apartments before running wild in the Magic Garden. Visit the oldest surviving hedge maze in the palace gardens. Read more.
- When – Open daily over the half term from 10th February to the 18th February, 10 am to 4 pm with the last admission at 3 pm.
- Where – Hampton Ct Way, Molesey, East Molesey KT8 9AU.
- How much – Tickets need to be booked in advance, you can buy tickets online with or without a donation. An adult ticket is £26.30 or £29 with a donation, children £13.10/£14.50 with under 5s being free.

Painshill Park
- What – Are running two events over half term that involve a wide range of activities. Mr Hamiltons Science and Curiosities Trail is a free trial that is full of amazing facts. There will be boards with constellations and the different planets of the solar system. Take a walk around the features of his landscape and learn about the natural world. Keep an eye out for a fairy door. As well as the free trail there are three wild wood camping sessions running. Aimed at children ages 8-11 years old to learn some new skills. The three half term workshops are Wild in the Woods, Woodland Games & Forest Feast and Winter Survival & Wood Craft. Including den building, pizza making, tracking animals and foraging to name a few of the activities. Read more.
- When – Mr Hamilton’s Science and Curiosities Trail runs from the 10th until the 25th of February 10 am to 4 pm. The Wild Woodland Camp is running on the 12th, 13th and 14th Feb. They need to be booked in advance and run from 9 am to 4 pm.
- Where – Painshill, Cobham, Surrey, KT11 1JE
- How much – Tickets for Painshill should be booked in advance where possible to benefit from a 20% discount. Tickets online cost £10 for an adult and £5.00 for a child aged 5-16 with gift aid. Under 5s are free. Camp sessions cost £45 per day.
Polesden Lacey National Trust
- What – Polesdenopoly
- One of our favourite National Trust places. Bring your friends and family to enjoy this interactive trail, see if you can become as rich as Mrs Greville, the previous owner of Polesden Lacey and well-known Edwardian socialite. Retrace the steps of past Kings, Queens and Maharajas, whilst you buy your favourite sites dotted around Polesden Lacey. The player who acquires the most property at the end of the trail is the ultimate winner. The trail is suitable for ages 5+ and tickets cost £5 per group. - When – Open throughout half term 10 am to 4 pm although the car park opens at 7.30 am.
- Where – Great Bookham, near Dorking, Surrey, RH5 6BD
- How much – Entrance is free for National Trust members, prices without gift aid are £15 for an adult, £7.50 for a child and £37.50 for a family or £22.50 with one adult. There is no need to pre-book you can pay upon arrival at visitor reception and then collect everything you need to take part at the welcome hut.

RHS Wisley
- What – Visit RHS Garden Wisley this half term and explore the Houseplant Takeover – Plants before time. Step inside the Glasshouse at RHS Garden Wisley to discover fascinating plants such as ferns and cycads, alongside fossils, footprints and more. Watch out for dinosaurs roaming the Glasshouse and beware of the plant-astic volcano, made from colourful bromeliads and tillandsia. A giant rib cage welcomes you to this amazing new display, filled with tropical plants, and jungle sounds. Makes an ideal rainy day activity and a great gift shop. Read more
- When – Runs throughout half term 10 am to 3.45 pm each weekday and 9.30 am to 3.45 pm at the weekend
- Where – RHS Garden Wisley, Wisley Lane, Woking, Surrey, GU23 6QB
- How much – There are no additional charges for the activities. If you are a member of the RHS then entrance is free. If not normal entrance fees apply, an adult ticket with gift aid costs £20.35 and without gift aid, it is £18.50. Children are £10.20/£9.25. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £48.85/£44.40. These are online ticket prices which are cheaper than those at the door.

Hatchlands Park National Trust
- What – Looking for some outdoor adventures. Visit Hatchlands Park during half term explore the natural adventure area and meet the resident donkeys. Pick up a free bird-spotting sheet from reception and see how many birds you can see in the parkland. They have added some colourful wooden birds by the paths, with some fun facts along the way. Read more.
- When – Open throughout half term 10 am to 4 pm
- Where – East Clandon, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7RT
- How much – Entrance is free for National Trust members, prices without gift aid are £12 for an adult, £6 for a child and £30 for a family or £18 with one adult.
Claremont Landscape Garden National Trust
- What – This year nothing has been released for half term. Yet Claremont still makes a great destination as there is lots to see and do. You can take part in a Friday History walk or a Tuesday Tree walk both of which are running through half term. Read more.
- When – Open throughout half term Saturday 10th to Sunday 18th February. The gardens are open until 4 pm.
- Where – Portsmouth Road, Esher, Surrey, KT10 9JG.
- How much – Entrance is free for National Trust members, prices without gift aid are £11 for an adult, £5.50 for a child and £27.50 for a family or £18 with one adult.

Denbies Estate – The Brick People
- What – If you have a lego mad little one then these holiday clubs will be right up their street. Tickets give the holder access to brick building, LEGO and LEGO DUPLO play areas, and building a LEGO mosaic. Sessions last for an hour. You do need to book the these fun workshop in advance which can be done online. Read more.
- When – Monday 12th, Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th of February between 10 am and 3.30 pm
- Where – London Rd, Dorking RH5 6AA
- How much – Adults and children aged 6 years olds and over cost £4.25 with under 3s being free.
Winkworth Arboretum
- What – Get outdoors and become a wildlife watcher. Follow the trail across the arboretum, using your best spotting skills to help Little Bird find a home at Winkworth. Experience wintertime by keeping a lookout for robins, deer, and winter daffodils. Read more.
- When – Over half term, Saturday 10th February to the 18th of February from 10 am with last entry at 3 pm and car park gates locked promptly at 4 pm.
- Where – Hascombe Road, Godalming, Surrey, GU8 4AD
- How much – Free for National Trust members. Alternatively, adults cost £12.10 with gift aid or £11 without. Children from 5 years and over are £6.10/£5.50 and a family ticket is £30.30/£27.50.
Squires Garden Centres
- What – Looking for February half term activities in Surrey that include cute crafts? Squires Garden Centres are hosting two activities in their Create and Grow February Half Term Fun 2023. Painting a ceramic flowerpot which needs to be booked in advance. There is also a Bird Treasure Hunt which is a free activity. Follow the trail of birds around the centre to find the magic work and receive a sticker. Read more.
- When – During half term between the 12th and 16th of February between 9 am and 1 pm. No booking is required for the treasure hunt. Although you do need to book a session slot to paint a flowerpot. These are every 30 minutes.
- Where – Squire Garden Centres can be found in Leatherhead, Woking, Cobham, Farnham, Walton on Thames, Godalming, Surbiton, Reigate, and Shepperton. The Chertsey and Bagshot Lea branches are not taking part in the half-term activities. You can check details beforehand on the Squires Garden Centres website.
- How much – It costs £6.50 to paint a ceramic flowerpot.
Gatton Park
- What – Gatton Park is running a host of half-term activities in Surrey throughout the week of half term aimed mainly at younger children. These include Forest Fun for 2-7-year-olds to make woodland crafts and enjoy a snack around the fire. Two Trails and Tales sessions based around Going on a Bear Hunt to include a craft activity aimed at children aged 2-4. Read more
- When – Forest Fun runs on the 12th of February am session from 10 am to 12 pm and pm session from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. Trails and Tales are running on the 14th and 16th of February am session runs from 10 am to 11.30 and the pm session is from 1.30 pm to 3 pm.
- Where – Gatton Park, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 0TW
- How much – Places need to be booked in advance for all sessions. Forest Fun costs £10 per child. The Trails and Tales cost £8 per child.
Brooklands Museum
- What – This February Half Term in Surrey explore the world of flight at Brooklands Museum where there is something for the whole family. Take a step back in time to the early days of aviation when Brooklands pioneered aircraft and pilot training. Will include costume characters, a family events workshop to build a paper aircraft and a problem-solving Brooklands Pioneers Museum Trail which is recommended for children aged 8-14. There are also Concorde Supersonic Walkthroughs which should be booked in advance. Read more.
- When – 10th-18th February running 10 am-4 pm. The Concorde Supersonic Walkthroughs will be running at 10.25 am 10.45 am and 11.05 am Monday to Friday.
- Where – Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Road, Weybridge, KT13 0SL
- How much – There is a £3 additional charger per person for the Concorde Supersonic Walkthroughs. Booking tickets online in advance means entry fees are cheaper adults cost £24.95 or £26.30 on the day. A child is £12.55 or £13.20 with under 5s going free. A family ticket for 2 adults and up to 3 children costs £59.95 or £63.25. A family ticket with one adult costs £36.95 or £39.05.
The London Bus Museum
- What – Have you ever wondered what happened to all those wonderful old buses that ran in London and which you only now see in old films and books? While thousands went to the scrap yard at the end of their working lives, some have found their way into preservation as living, moving museum pieces at London Bus Museum. Here you will discover the largest collection of working historic London buses in the world, a priceless heritage representing more than 150 years of public transport evolution in the capital. A perfect place for vehicle-mad kids and family days out. Read more.
- When – Open Mondays 11 am to 4 pm and other days 10 am to 4 pm. The last entry to the London Bus Museum is 3.45 pm. Bus rides run at weekends and every day during the Surrey school holidays.
- Where – Part of Brooklands Museum
- How much – Entrance to the Brooklands Museum allows entrance to the London Bus Museum.
British Wildlife Centre
- What – There are keeper talks throughout the day with them taking place every half an hour and lasting about 15 minutes. These include red squirrel enclosure, foxes, Scottish wildcats, red deer, polecats, owl displays and otters. As well as these animals there lots of animals others to see during your visit appealing to kids of all ages. Read more.
- When – Normally only open during the weekends. The British Wildlife Centre will be open during the half-term week as well from 10 am to 4 pm. Please note the play area is closed when it is wet and so will most likely not be in operation during February half term.
- Where – British Wildlife Centre, Eastbourne Road, Newchapel, Lingfield, Surrey RH7 6LF
- How much – If you book tickets in advance online you will save £1 a ticket. Adults cost £13 a ticket and a child £7.
Watts Gallery
- What – There are lots of family activities and different half term events in Surrey at Watts Gallery. Visit the Victorian Virtual Reality which presents highlights from the Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy. Explore the nineteenth-century photography craze that, for the first time, enabled pictures to appear in 3D. Or pick up a family activity in the galley to help look closer and drop in and draw on select mornings alongside a guiding artist. Read more.
- When – Activities are being run on different days throughout half term
- Where – Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village, Down Lane, Compton, Surrey, GU3 1DQ
- How much – Watts Tots costs £6 and needs to be booked in advance. Watts Creatives costs £8 and also needs to be booked in advance. The other activities and gallery space are included in the ticket price. Admission costs adults £13.50 and those under 18s are free. English Heritage members receive a discount of £10.80.
The Lightbox Woking
- What – The Lightbox is an award-winning charitable arts and heritage organisation with a social purpose to improve the well-being and quality of life of its community. They are running a series of school holiday activities throughout half term. Visit to try a new thing this Feb half term. Read more.
- When – There are several different workshop activities on throughout the half term. These need to be booked in advance. This can be done online via their website.
- Where – The Art of Printmaking (5-10yrs) 13th February at 1.30pm to 3pm. Free drop-in sessions at Big Art Town on 14th February at 1.30 pm. Make a pop-up book (11-16 yrs) on 15th February at 1.30 pm.
- How much – The Art of Printmaking costs £12 per child. Pop-up books cost £15 per child. The drop-in session is free although there is a suggested donation of £5 each.
Godstone Farm
- What – Godstone farm is first and foremost an adventure farm park. This half term they are inviting you to Spring into Action. There are lots of February half term activities in Surrey at the farm. Join in with additional animal interactions, and discover baby animals around the farm trail. Invigorate your senses with our flower scent trail and plant your own beanstalk – alongside the favourite tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. You can also join in with a gnome hunt and get creative with nature-inspired crafts and help to create a painted pebble garden. As well as tractor rides. Read more.
- When – Runs throughout the Febuary half term – from Saturday 10th Febuary to Sunday 18th of Febuary. Farm opening times are 9.430 am to 16.45 pm.
- Where – Tilburstow Hill Road, Godstone, RH9 8LX
- How much – Tickets should be booked online in advance for the best prices. Entrance tickets cost £12.45 for adults and children aged 2 and over depending on the dates chosen. Children under two cost £6.25 with babies under one visiting for free.
Birdworld
- What -Prepare for a week filled with feathered fun and penguin-packed excitement with our two colonies of penguins: our Humboldt’s and Africans. Dive into a world of penguin magic and adventure with our new interactive play that will have your kids squealing with delight. You can also take part in feeding the penguins for half price. Although this needs to be booked in person on the day. Read more.
- When – The park is open from 10 am to 4.30 pm throughout half term. Penguin Week takes place between the 12th and 18th of February.
- Where – Birdworld Holt Pound, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 4LD
- How much – It is advisable to buy tickets online, an adult ticket costs £19.95 and a child ticket £15.95. Entrance tickets also allow entrance to the sea life centre which is next door.

Haslemere Museum
- What – There are a few things running throughout the half term at Haslemere Museum. You can download a handy guide on their website. Join birdwatching detectives the Twitchers and explore the beautiful birds and amazing animals in Haslemere Museum this February half-term. The Twitchers Museum Adventure from Kids in Museums and Walker Books celebrates the release of Feather, the fourth book in The Twitchers series from bestselling author M. G. Leonard. Find the birds and make your own pledge to protect wildlife. Complete the activity sheet to receive your Twitchers sticker. Read more.
- When – The Twitchers trail is running from the 10th of February to the 25th of February 10 am to 4.30 pm.
- Where – Haslemere Educational Museum, 78 High Street, Haslemere, Surrey, GU27 2LA
- How much – Admission is by donation, there is no mention of an extra fee for the Twitchers trail online.
Other February half term activities in Surrey
As well as all the fantastic activities listed above there are some other days out in Surrey that are open over half term. Although not putting on any specific half-term activities or events in Surrey. I have included these below.
Guildford Spectrum
- What – The Surrey sports park offers a selection of half term saviours such as ice skating, swimming, soft play and ten-pin bowling. All of these activties are bookable in advance. They also offer Xtreme Activate holiday camp. where child will take part in a range of activities which include bowling, swimming, ice skating, trampolining, outdoor play, arts and craft corner. Meaning they are entertained for the whole day during the school holidays. Early drop-off and Late pick-up times are available at extra cost.
- When – The leisure centre is open daily. The Xtreme Activate holiday camp runs from the 12th to the 16th of February.
- Where –
- How much – activity prices vary on type chosen and duration. All are bookable via the website. Online enquiry form for the full day holiday camps.
Priory Farm
- What – Discoveryland is open all year round and based on 40 acres of beautiful countryside. A family nature trail with surprises around every corner. Venture along the way-marked walk through ancient woodland, green pastures, meadows and around our fishing lakes. Discovery Land changes with the seasons; from cheerful daffodils and summer sunflowers to frosty cobwebs on our spooky Halloween trail, the walk is different every time you visit and so can be enjoyed time and time again. - When – Various dates that need to be booked online in advance. You are given a time slot which is your arrival time. More details on their website.
- Where – Priory Farm Estate, Sandy Lane, South Nutfield, Redhill, RH1 4EJ
- How much – Entrance to Discovery Land costs £6 + 30p booking fee each for everyone over the age of 2 at the weekends. For weekday tickets this is reduced to £4.30 + 30p booking fee. Tickets do need to be booked in advance via their website.
Kew
- What – There is plenty of things to do at Kew Gardens that we never manage to fit it all in during one trip. With multiple glasses houses to explore, the hive, the children’s garden (needs booking in advance), and the treetop walkway. And there is usually all sorts of exhibitions to visit. With a beautiful new cafe set up for kids it would make a great place to visit this half term. Read more.
- When – Throughout half term opening times are 10 am to 4 pm with the last entry at 3 pm
- Where – Kew Gardens car park (TW9 3AF, Ferry Lane, near Brentford Gate.
- How much – Free to members. Tickets can be brought in advance online at a reduced price and with or without a donation. The cheapest tickets are for adults at £15, a child at £5, and a family of four at £37.50. Under 4s are free.

Mercedes Benz World
- What – With lots to see and do Mercedes Benz World makes a great family day out. There are three floors of displays including F1 cars. There are also other simulators across two floors ranging from Little Racers to GRID an F1 simulator to get the ultimate racing experience. For younger visitors, they can try out car rides of their own. For those aged between 3-5 years old, there is a purpose-built indoor track where they can try out a fleet of electric ride-on cars. There are also a whole host of driving experiences for adults and big kids. Read more.
- When – During school holidays they are open from 10 am to 6 pm each day.
- Where – Brooklands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 OSL
- How much – The racing simulators range from £6 to £20 per race. The electric ride-on cars cost £6 per race, the session time is approximately 15 minutes.
Alice Holt Forest
- What – We absolutely love Alice Holt forest there is so much to do for kids. With a large play area near the cafe. Several different trails each with wooden play equipment. So much forest to explore. Character trails, cycle hire and Go Ape. It is a great place to explore and get out into the fresh air this half term. Read more.
- When – The car park is open from 8 am to 6 pm and the visitor centre where you can pick up trails etc is open from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
- Where – Bucks Horn Oak, Farnham, GU10 4LS
- How much – The only charge to access the play area is parking fees, these vary depending on how long you park for. For school holidays all day, parking costs £12. There is an additional cost for Go Ape and some of the character trails can cost a few pounds for the trail packs.

Hobbledown
- What – Another fantastic day out full of February half term activities in Surrey. Where you will be hard-pushed to get around it all and try out the whole range of activities. There are inside play areas with lots of things to climb on in the play barn. An Imgainariaum where little ones can engage in some water play before coming face to face with various reptiles. There are farm animals to feed. And so many different options when it comes to outside play areas including a wonderful play village. There really is something for everyone. Read more.
- When – Open throughout half-term from 9 am to 6 pm.
- Where – Hobbledown, Horton Lane, Horton, KT19 8PT
- How much – you can either book a ticket which costs £17 and gives you a time limit of four hours at the attraction. Or you can book a £22 ticket which does not come with a time limit. Under 2s are free.

Surrey History Centre
- What – Surrey History Centre in Woking collects and preserves the records of Surrey’s past and present, documenting the story of the county and its people from the 12th century to the 21st century. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Surrey History Centre by discovering some of the love hearts found in our collection and have a go at our free craft activities. Ages 3 to 10. Free parking onsite, buggy friendly and baby change facilities. Read more.
- When – Tuesday the 14th of February to 16th February open 9.30 am to 12.45 pm and then 1.45 pm to 5 pm.
- Where – Surrey History Centre, 130 Goldsworth Road, Woking, GU21 6ND.
- How much – The drop-in session is free entry.
