Family Fun at JO Adventure Minigolf in St JOhann

The boys love a game of mini golf and so were delighted to find out that there was a course close by when we visited St JOhann for 3 nights. It makes an ideal activity after you have spent the day hiking, swimming and exploring the mountains. If you are planning a trip then heres how we got on at JO Adventure Minigolf in St JOhann Salzburg.

Where is JO Adventure Minigolf?

JO Adventure Minigolf is part of the OPEN golf St JOhann. Which is located in Alpendorf, St JOhann. OPEN Golf has its own gold course if you are looking to play something full-size. It is relatively easy to find when you come off the A10 motorway and just follow the golfing signs. Although you can also use the address Urreiting 105, 5600 St. Johann im Pongau to find it.

If you are staying in Salzburg and planning on exploring the region further then this minigolf in Salzburg region should also be on your list.

When you arrive at the golf course there is plenty of parking with JO Adventure Mini Golf being located to the righthand side. There are electronic gates which require you to scan your tickets for entry. There is also a vending machine and a place to sit and discuss your golfing tactics for adventure golf.

How much is JO Adventure Minigolf?

Tickets can be purchased from the Pro shop. This is located at the end of the drive next to the restaurant. You can not miss it. Here you can also pick up coloured balls, golf clubs and a scorecard. Prices start at €9 for an adult, €6 for a child or €27 for a family of four for one round.

With the JO St. Johann Alpendorf guest card or Salzburger Sportwelt card you get a 50% discount on admission.

How long do you need at JO Adventure Mini Golf?

It took us around an hour to complete the family fun 18-hole golf course. Although we arrived early and did not have many people in front of us. So we did not need to queue at any of the holes. We had plans to drive The High Alpine Road.

There is a restaurant on site so you could also have lunch. Plus the course is open from xx am to 10 pm. It would make a great evening activity with tweens or teens. As the course becomes floodlit.

JO Adventure Minigolf what to expect

The mini golf course is very well maintained opening for the first time in 2022. It still looks brand new thanks in part to the fact that the holes are made from different colours of artificial grass which is a new look we have not come across before. Rather than the drab and boring concrete ones we see frequently. It is all on one level allowing easier access for buggies.

Each of the holes relates to something about St JOhann or one of the sights in the St. JOhann region which has to be one of my favorite features. So making this one of the first stops on your holiday will give you plenty of ideas of things to do. Sights include the Ghost Mountain, the Liechtenstein Gorge, Pongau Cathedral and Burg Hohenwerfen.

Each hole comes with its own information plaque which tells you the best way to approach the hole. As well as some information about the sight or landmark appearing. Written in both German and English.

The holes are challenging but not really hard which is perfect for kids. We all managed to get a hole-in-one. Which really helped with the tantrums that this sort of activity tends to elect from Harry. There are also some fabulous features although I think the corkscrew tunnel was my favourite. Charlie liked the water features and Harry the cow. Where you hit the ball into the cow’s mouth and it came out its bottom. Hilarious for a seven-year-old.

We had a brilliant time enjoying the JO Adventure Mini Golf course. The boys would have happily played over and over again, it was a really fun way to pass an hour or so.
