Alien Vision Game Review: Monkey is just starting to get into computer games, not in the traditional sense of the word. But more apps and toys with that element in them. We were sent the Alien Vision Googles from IMC Toys for Monkey to review. The Googles have an interactive element to which means that aliens appear before your very eyes.
The idea is simple you sync the gun and the googles together which sets off a series of aliens appearing. Invisible aliens are invading the earth! The only way to see them through the alien goggles. As they appear you use the gun to stop the invasion, each game is 90 seconds long.
Monkey was very excited as soon as he saw them. He’s hit that age where he’s starting to get into this sort of play. One thing to note before you start is that you need six AAA batteries. Three for the gun and three for the alien vision googles. Monkey was a little disappointed when he thought we didn’t have enough.
The goggles themselves have three settings from easy through to difficult. We started on the easy and Monkey took several attempts to get the hang of it and move the counter off of 00 on the gun. He thought it was brilliant though, we have not tired the higher levels yet as he’s still trying to score the maximum points on the easy level. At age five he is on the young end of the age scale. It did mean that we needed to adjust the head strap a little to make it fit which was easy to do.
Things we loved – Alien Vision Game Review
- There is very little assembly of the toy required and the instructions are very clear and easy to understand
- The eyepiece is soft and moulded so they are comfortable to wear
- They are very simple to operate with an on switch on the top of googles and gun
- It feels good quality and robust, which is just as well considering they are in the hands of little ones!
- This is a unique toy and one that Monkey has really engaged with. It really helps to develop his imagination as he runs around the house playing alien invasions with or without the googles.
- I think virtual reality pictures are good and clear and easy to see
- The fact that there are three different levels means the toy can grow with your child
- The toy comes with four aliens cards that can be hidden around the room to find as you destroy the aliens.
The Alien Vision costs £39.99 and is available from the main toy retailers. I know that Monkey will get a lot of use out of these and perhaps are an indication of what sort of gaming environment he will grow up into. I would expect virtual reality to become the norm as he gets older.

I’ve not seen this before. It looks a great way to introduce virtual games to children. I like that its not one that they are stuck in front of a tv playing games. you did well to have 6 batteries in the house! x
This sounds fantastic! Max is only three but is already getting to grips with computer games – I can see him loving this! Virtual reality is the in thing at the moment too, it sounds like this will really take off!
I was going to say that this is something that Harry would love but if I’m honest, I think that my husband would love it even more!! It looks like so much fun, virtual reality is definitely taking over!

That seems a really reasonable price considering you say the virtual reality images are good. What a lot of fun Money must have had playing this and I wouldn’t be surprised if the mask and gun get into lots of make belie games too! Mich x
