35+ Easter Activities, Events and Egg Hunts in Surrey 2023

There is something special about the Easter school holidays. I think it is generally because dare I say it the weather is so much better. After the dark Winter days with the Spring flowers appearing. It makes us all want to go outside more and explore. So I have pulled together a list of some of the best Easter activities in Surrey this holiday. As well as the boy’s favourite Easter egg hunts in Surrey – I think it must be chocolate. And not to forget the very special Easter events in Surrey. No matter what you are looking to do this Easter then I am sure there will be something for you below. This year the Easter holidays are running from the 29th of March to the 14th of April 2024. With Good Friday on the 29th of March.

Easter in Surrey 2024

If you live in Surrey and you are looking for things to do over the Easter holidays then we have you covered. When reading through if there are some Easter activities locally that I have not included that you think should be then please mention them in the comments below and I will get them added.

Where possible I have included prices and details correct as of February 2024. However, some places may not have released all the information about their Easter events in Surrey. So make sure you check the individual website before attending.

Easter Activities in Surrey

There is so much choice of things to do in Surrey over the Easter holidays. With many places putting on specific Easter activities there is something for the whole family. So grab you own basket and put on your bunny ears and head off looking for that special prize.

Bocketts Farm

What – There is so much going on at Brockets Farm it makes a great day out. As well as all the usual fun of soft play, small animal encounters, and outdoor play areas. They are running an Easter trail with Easter chocolate at the end, a craft corner and live shows in the Easter Garden. With over 80 newborn lambs due. The opportunity to meet chicks and duckings as well as a tractor and trailer ride or pony rides. Read more.
When – Their Easter Extravaganza runs from the 29th March to the 14th of April.
Where – Young Street, Fetcham, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 9BS.
How much – You can book tickets online in advance, places are limited so this is recommended. Adults cost £19 each, children aged 3-17 years cost £21, and two-year-olds are slightly reduced at £18.50 each with free entrance for children under 2 years.

Alice Holt Forest

What – We absolutely love Alice Holt forest there is so much to do for kids. With a large play area near the cafe. Several different trails each with wooden play equipment. So much forest to explore. Character trails, cycle hire and Go Ape. It is a great place to explore and get out into the fresh air this half term. This year they have a brand new Gruffalo Trail that they are running to celebrate his 25th Birthday. Trail packs can be picked up from the visitor centre and cost £4 each. Read more.
When – The car park is open from 8 am to 6 pm and the visitor centre where you can pick up trails etc is open from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
Where – Bucks Horn Oak, Farnham, GU10 4LS
How much – The only charge to access the play area is parking fees, these vary depending on how long you park for. For school holidays all day, parking costs £12. There is an additional cost for Go Ape and some of the character trails can cost a few pounds for the trail packs.

Chessington World of Adventures

What – EGGSplorers returns to Chessington World of Adventures for its second year with an Easter Activity Trail. Easter Bunny meet and greet, rides are open and there are interactive shows are running throughout the day. There is also the opportunity to upgrade your ticket to include the Enchanted Hollow for an Easter Egg Hunt Read more.
When – daily from the 28th of March to the 14th of April 10 am to 6 pm.
Where – Leatherhead Rd, Chessington KT9 2NE.
How much – Tickets can be booked online in advance, under 3s are free, and tickets are from £34. The gate price is from £66 so save a third on ticket prices by booking in advance. Enchanted Hollow cost £8 per person and can be selected during the booking process.

Squires Garden Centres

What – Looking for Easter activities in Surrey that include cute crafts? Squires Garden Centres are hosting two activities in their Create and Grow Easter Holidays Fun 2023. Plant a colourful Easter basket which needs to be booked in advance for £6.50 each. There is also a Spring Flower Hunt which involves finding a magic word and a chocolate treat for £2.50. Read more.
When – Weekdays during the Easter holidays from 2nd to 12th April 9.30 am and 1.30 pm. No booking is required for the treasure hunt. Sessions for the Easter basket are every 30 minutes.
Where – At Squire Garden Centres can be found in Leatherhead, Woking, Cobham, Farnham, Walton on Thames, Godalming, Surbiton, Reigate, and Shepperton. The Chertsey and Bagshot Lea branches are not taking part in the Easter activities in Surrey. You can check details beforehand on the Squires Garden Centres website.
How much – It costs £6.50 for the Easter Basket and £2.50 for the trail.

Brooklands Museum

What – They are hosting a brand new Easter egg hunt in Surrey for 2024. There will also be balloon car races, pedal vehicles and outdoor games. With exciting simulators, vintage bus rides around Brooklands and Concorde tours will also be available, subject to availability. On Easter Sunday there is a classic car day with hundreds of classic cars, live music and food stalls. Read more.
When – from Friday 29^th March to Sunday 14^th April, running 10 am-5 pm.
Where – Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Road, Weybridge, KT13 0SL
How much – Booking tickets online in advance is cheaper adults cost £22.70 or £23.90 on the day. A child is £9.50 or £10 with under 5s going free.

British Wildlife Centre

What – There are keeper talks throughout the day with them taking place every half an hour and lasting about 15 minutes. These include red squirrel enclosure, foxes, Scottish wildcats, red deer, polecats, owl displays and otters. As well as these animals there are lots of animals others to see during your visit appealing to kids of all ages. Read more.
When – Normally only open during the weekends. The British Wildlife Centre will be open during the Easter holiday as well from 10 am to 4 pm.
Where – British Wildlife Centre, Eastbourne Road, Newchapel, Lingfield, Surrey RH7 6LF
How much – If you book tickets in advance online you will save £1 a ticket. Adults cost £15 a ticket and a child £9.

Hobbledown

What – Another fantastic day out full of fun-filled activities in Surrey. Where you will be hard-pushed to get around it all and try out the whole range of activities. There are inside play areas with lots of things to climb on in the play barn. An Imgainariaum where little ones can engage in some water play before coming face to face with various reptiles. There are farm animals to feed. And so many different options when it comes to outside play areas including a wonderful play village. There really is something for everyone and we always have a great time when we visit. Read more.
When – Open throughout the Easter holidays in Surrey from 9 am to 6 pm.
Where – Hobbledown, Horton Lane, Horton, KT19 8PT
How much – you can either book a ticket which costs £14 and gives you a specific time slot. Or you can book a ticket for £16 ticket which is open-ended. Under 2s are free. You can also purchase an afternoon saver ticket from £11 which allows you to visit from 3.30 pm.

Godstone Farm – Great Easter Grotto Escape

What – Delight in the joy of meeting the cutest baby animals, immerse yourself in spring crafts and experience character meet and greets that will enchant the entire family. Take on the egg drop challenge and don’t miss the chance to upgrade to create your own egg slime. There is also so many other things to do such as the adventure playground and wilding play, sandpits and the World of Dinosaur Roar Discovery Trail. When – Runs throughout the Easter Holidays in Surrey from the 1st of April to the 16th of April. Farm opening times are 9.430 am to 16.45 pm. You will book a specific time slot for the Easter Grotto.

How much – Tickets should be booked online in advance for the best prices. Entrance tickets cost £14.95 for adults and children aged 2. Children aged one are £7.50, with under ones being free. Please see website for more details.

Priory Farm

What – Discoveryland is open all year round and based on 40 acres of beautiful countryside. A family nature trail with surprises around every corner. Venture along the way-marked walk through ancient woodland, green pastures, meadows and around our fishing lakes. Discovery Land changes with the seasons; from cheerful daffodils and summer sunflowers to frosty cobwebs on our spooky Halloween trail, the walk is different every time you visit and so can be enjoyed time and time again. Over Easter they are running a special Easter trail, with a special trail sheet to find all of Pebble’s rocky eggs. Read more.

How much – Entrance to Discovery Land costs £6 + 50p booking fee each for everyone over the age of 2 at the weekends. For weekday tickets this is reduced to £4 + 50p booking fee. Tickets do need to be booked in advance via their website.

Kew Gardens – Bluey

What -Bluey, the loveable Blue Heeler puppy, is coming to Kew for interactive activities inspired by the show. Perfect for budding adventurers. Choose from a variety of fun outdoor activities and games inspired by fan-favourite episodes of the show, and learn about the plants and wildlife found at Kew and in Bluey’s native Australia along the way. Plus, there’s the chance to meet Bluey at the Gardens at intervals on each day throughout the event. A really fun Easter activity in Surrey and not an Easter bunny in sight. Read more.
When – Throughout the Easter holidays from the 29th of March to the 14th of April. opening times are 10 am to 4 pm with the last entry at 3 pm
Where – Kew Gardens car park (TW9 3AF, Ferry Lane, near Brentford Gate.
How much – Free to members. Tickets can be brought in advance online at a reduced price and with or without a donation. The cheapest tickets are for adults at £22, a child at £6, and a family of four at £48. Under 4s are free. The Easter trail is free.

Mercedes Benz World

What – With lots to see and do Mercedes Benz World makes a great family day out. There are three floors of displays including F1 cars. There are also other simulators across two floors ranging from Little Racers to GRID an F1 simulator to get the ultimate racing experience. For younger visitors, they can try out car rides of their own. For those aged between 3-5 years old, there is a purpose-built indoor track where they can try out a fleet of electric ride-on cars. There are also a whole host of driving experiences for adults and big kids. Read more.
When – During school holidays they are open from 10 am to 6 pm each day.

How much – The racing simulators range from £6 to £20 per race. The electric ride-on cars cost £6 per race, the session time is approximately 15 minutes

Easter Egg Hunts in Surrey

The boys love an Easter Egg Hunt in Surrey it is probably because there is normally something tasty at the end of it, namely a chocolate egg. Thankfully there are lots of opportunities to indulge in Easter Egg Hunt events. Especially as there is a large number of National Trust Easter Egg trails in Surrey to choose from. I like the fact that the National Trust Easter Egg Hunts follow the same format. So you know what you are going to get. This year there are also a few that are starting earlier. Hampton Court Palace – Easter Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt

What – Probably my favourite Easter egg hunt in Surrey! Run free in the 60 acres of Henry VIII’s gardens to find the hidden Lindt gold bunny statues. Match up the name of the important palace character on the trail to the red ribbon on the bunny statue at each location across the palace gardens. With each Lindt gold bunny you find, you’ll uncover a fascinating story. In the end, you will be rewarded with a treat. The trail is included in the ticket price and should take around 90 minutes to complete. Aimed at 3-12-year-olds and you can download some colouring pages from their website. Keep an eye out for the tulip festival and the first signs of Spring. Read more.
When – Open daily over the Easter holidays from the 23rd of March to the 14th of April, 10 am to 4 pm with the last admission at 3 pm.
Where – Hampton Court Way, Molesey, East Molesey KT8 9AU.
How much – Tickets need to be booked in advance, you can buy tickets online with or without a donation. An adult ticket for weekends or on event days is £30.00, and children £15 with under 5s being free.

Painshill Park

What – Big Easter statue trail, giant eggs are waiting to be found on the grounds in this Easter egg scavenger hunt. A trail sheet will be available to pick up at the entrance. Make sure you make time to see the crystal grotto. Read more.
When – The trail is running from the 16th of March to the 14th of April.
Where – Painshill, Cobham, Surrey, KT11 1JE
How much – If you select tickets online in advance then you can save up to 18%. Adult tickets start at £11, children at £6 with those under the age of 5 being free.

Polesden Lacey National Trust

What – Spring has sprung and Grizwald the Griffin has come to life. Grizwald is cooking up an Easter feast but has never celebrated Easter before, so may need some help to figure out what to cook. Follow the interactive trail around the grounds, where there will be plenty of fun activities for all of the family. Once you help Grizwald prepare for an Easter feast, this friendly Griffin may even say thank you and reward you with an Easter treat. The trail costs £3 per child and includes a trail map, pencil and chocolate egg. There will also be the opportunity to meet Grizwald on certain days. Read more.

How much – Entrance is free for National Trust members, prices without gift aid are £15 for an adult, £7.50 for a child and £37.50 for a family or £22.50 with one adult.

Mordon Hall Park

What – Another National Trust Easter Egg Trail in Surrey! Make your way along the trail and take part in fun-filled games and activities that will get your heart racing and your brain whirring. The trail costs £3 per child. Read more.

How much – Entry to the park is free for all.

RHS Wisley – Giant Easter Egg Hunt

What – This Easter Egg Hunt in Surrey also involves some craft time fun. Follow the garden trail and help the Easter Bunny find his friends who are playing hide and seek at Wisley. As you explore, search for the enormous painted eggs decorated with brand-new competition-winning designs, and learn all about spring and what you can do at home for nature and wildlife. Once you’ve found all the eggs, you’ll be rewarded with a free chocolate treat. There is also the chance to enjoy Easter crafts and seed planting suitable for 3-11-year-olds in the plant centre. How much – There are no additional charges for the activities. If you are a member of the RHS then entrance is free. If not normal entrance fees apply, an adult ticket with gift aid costs £20.35 and without gift aid, it is £18.50. Children are £10.20/£9.25. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £48.85/£44.40. These are online ticket prices which are cheaper than those at the door.

Hatchlands Park National Trust

What – Visit Hatchlands Park during Easter to explore the parkland with fun games and challenges and see how many painted eggs you can spot. At the end of the trail enjoy a chocolate treat. Read more.
When – The trail is running over the Easter weekend from the 29th of March to the 1st of April 10 am to 4 pm
Where – East Clandon, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7RT
How much – Entrance is free for National Trust members, prices without gift aid are £12 for an adult, £6 for a child and £30 for a family or £18 with one adult.

Claremont Landscape Garden National Trust

What – Claremont Landscape Garden is running its annual Easter Egg hunt in Surrey this year. The traill costs £3 per child. The bunny-themed trail through the garden that will engage all the senses with fun challenges that test your agility, your wits and creativity. Read more.
When – The trail 10 am – 3 pm daily from 23rd of March to Sunday 14th April. The gardens are open until 4 pm.
Where – Portsmouth Road, Esher, Surrey, KT10 9JG.
How much – Entrance is free for National Trust members, prices without gift aid are £13 for an adult, £6.50 for a child and £32.50 for a family or £19.50 with one adult.

Winkworth Arboretum

What – Hop to Winkworth to help Basil the Bunny start his first day as the Easter Bunny’s assistant. Become Basil’s alarm clock, race him to work, and meet his Easter friends. It costs £3 per child and includes a chocolate surprise at the end. Just like all the National Trust Easter Egg trails in Surrey, there is a dairy-free alternative. Read more.
When – Over the Easter Holidays, the 27th of March to the 7th of April from 10 am to 3.30 pm. The Kiosk to collect your prize closes at 4.30 pm so make sure you collect it before this time.

How much – Free for National Trust members. Alternatively, adults cost £14.30 with gift aid or £13 without. Children from 5 years and over are £7.20/£6.50 and a family ticket is £35.80/£32.50. You do not need to book your trail but during busy periods it is advised to book your visit to Winkworth.

Denbies Estate – Easter Bunny Train Ride

What – Enjoy a trip around the vineyard on Denbies Easter Bunny Train Ride with a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself. Spot the golden Easter eggs throughout the vineyard, ticking them off in your Easter Train Passport. Find all 3 gold eggs to win an Easter prize! Read more.

Gatton Park

What – Gatton Park is running an Easter Egg Hunt in Surrey over the bank holiday weekend. To include a trail and tropical activities. It will also be possible to purchase refreshments. Read more

How much – If you purchase tickets in advance then there is a discount on the adult tickets from £8 down to £6. Children’s tickets are £3 each. Bookings can be made online.

Albury Vineyard

What – Something completely different which may appeal in equal measure to mum and dad as well as the kids this Easter in Surrey. Albury Vineyard is opening for Easter with a special easter egg trail. A self-guided vineyard tour features stunning views over the Surrey Hills and is a great way to find out more about English wine. Kids will love their Easter Egg Hunt in Surrey with a small prize of a chocolate treat at the end and face painting. There is also a pop up wine and cheese bar. Read more.

Easter Events in Surrey

If you are all Easter Egg Hunted out then these Easter Events in Surrey may be right up your street. Running specifically over the Easter period there is everything from wild wood days to lego sessions to crafting and dancing. There really special events for everyone in Surrey this Easter holidays.

Painshill Park

What – Painshill Park is also running a Wild Easter Camp on selected days if you are looking for a family adventure. Full of exciting outdoor adventures for children aged 8 to 11 years. They use the Forest School approach of listening to children to find out where their interests lie and then suggest activities to match, providing resources, skills and tutorage. Such as den building, using steels to light fires, toasting marshmallows, finding hidden Easter eggs, and lots of wildwood games. Read more.

Denbies Estate – The Brick People

What – If you have a lego mad little one then these holiday clubs will be right up their street. Tickets give the holder access to a brick building, LEGO and LEGO DUPLO play areas, and building a LEGO mosaic. Sessions last for an hour. You do need to book time slots for this fun workshop in advance which can be done online. Read more.
When – Saturday 6th April between 10 am and 3.30 pm

How much – Adults and children aged 3 years old and over cost £4.75 with under 3s being free.

Gatton Park

What – Gatton Park is running a couple of different Easter events in Surrey throughout the Easter holidays aimed mainly at younger children. These include Forest Fun for 2-7-year-olds to make woodland crafts and enjoy a snack around the fire. Two Trails and Tales sessions based around What the Lady Bird Heard or Highway Rate to include a craft activity aimed at children aged 2-4. There is also a Mini Beast Hunt Read more

The London Bus Museum – Spring Gathering

What – The South-East’s biggest and best bus show with huge displays of historic and modern buses, vintage bus rides, a traders’ market, children’s entertainment and other special features. Here you will discover the largest collection of working historic London buses in the world, a priceless heritage representing more than 150 years of public transport evolution in the capital. Read more.
When – Bus rides will also run at weekends and every day during the Surrey school holidays.
Where – Part of Brooklands Museum
How much – Entrance to the Brooklands Museum allows entrance to the London Bus Museum.

Watts Gallery

What – There are lots of family activities and different Easter events in Surrey at Watts Gallery including craft workshops. With something for different age groups. Take part in a creative Make Space workshop or enjoy a Watts Tots make session. All take inspiration from a different display in the gallery. Read more.
When – Activities are being run on different days throughout half term
Where – Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village, Down Lane, Compton, Surrey, GU3 1DQ
How much – Watts Tots costs £6 and needs to be booked in advance. Make space costs £3 and also needs to be booked in advance. Ceramic workshops cost £20. Admission costs adults £13.50 and those under 18s are free. English Heritage members receive a discount of £10.80.

The Lightbox Woking

What – The Lightbox is an award-winning charitable arts and heritage organisation with a social purpose to improve the well-being and quality of life of its community. The activities they are running over Easter have yet to be published. But keep an eye on their website for the lastest news about the events. Read more.
When – The different workshop activities need to be booked in advance. This can be done online via their website. Dates to be confirmed. Closed Mondays and Bank Holidays. Open 10.30 am to 5 pm and 11 am to 4 pm on Sundays.

Haslemere Museum

What – Haslemere Museum will be running events over the Surrey Easter Holidays these have yet to be publicised on their website. Read more.

Where – Haslemere Educational Museum, 78 High Street, Haslemere, Surrey, GU27 2LA
How much – Both events need to be booked in advance via the website. Costs are £4 for a non-member, £2 for a member and £1 for an adult. All children need to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Surrey History Centre

What – Surrey History Centre in Woking collects and preserves the records of Surrey’s past and present, documenting the story of the county and its people from the 12th century to the 21st century. Come along to Surrey History Centre this Easter to discover British wildlife! Have a go at craft activities including making a badger, hedgehog and snail. Suitable for children aged 3 to 10. Museum of Rural Life

What – Railway Wednesdays are back! Ride on the Old Kiln Light Railway on Wednesdays in school holidays, for free, unlimited train rides are included in your museum entrance ticket. Trains run from Mills Wood Station to Reeds Road and back. Please see the website for more information. There is a Surrey Hills Spring Fair which brings together the very best of Surrey’s food, drink, art and crafts from local businesses at the Museum. Read More.
