30+ Easter Activities, Events and Egg Hunts in Sussex 2025

Easter adventures in Sussex. I sometimes wonder if Easter is the boy’s favourite holiday! They absolutely go mad for Easter Egg Hunts, Easter-themed activities and Easter days out. Although that could be because of all the chocolate. So this year I have pulled together a list of Easter activities in Sussex, some Easter Egg Hunts in Sussex and not to forget Easter events in Sussex. Just in case you were wondering what to do during Easter in Sussex. This year the Easter holidays are running from the 7th of April to 21st of April.

If you live in Sussex and you are looking for things to do over the Easter holidays then we have you covered. When reading through if there are some Easter activities locally that I have not included that you think should be then please mention them in the comments below and I will get them added. Please note that this post includes both easter activities in West Sussex and Easter events in East Sussex.

Where possible I have included prices and details correct as of March 2025. However, some places may not have released all the information about their Easter events in Sussex. So make sure you check the individual website before attending.

Easter Activities in Sussex

We are really blessed with amazing things to do in Sussex. But the attractions listed below are holding special Easter activities in Sussex this year. These are in addition to what they usually offer generally making them great value for money. So grab you own basket and put on your bunny ears and head off looking for that special treat.

Fishers Farm Park – Hoping Easter Adventure

What – Easter activities in Sussex are suitable for the whole family. With an appearance from the Easter bunny and his furry friends over the Easter weekend. At the Animal Encounters Barn, you will be able to see the cutest baby lambs & goat kids. Some lucky visitors might even get to bottle-feed them in the daily Farm Shows! There will be chicks, piglets, baby goats and so much more to be seen in our daily Animal Handling Sessions and Farm Show. As well as the usual giant adventure playgrounds outside and inside (while mum relaxes with a hot drink), soft play, the animal farm, animal encounters and tractor-trailer rides. Arundel Wetland Centre

What – There is the usual daily pelican talks running throughout the Easter Holidays in Sussex. As well as a new Lloyd of the flies wetland bug hunt which is running through until June. You can purchase an activity pack for £4 to run alongside. You can also enjoy a gentle 20-minute guide ride immersing yourself in wetland nature in reed beds, wet meadows and carr woodland with a wetland boat safari. Pond dipping available for up to 6 peoples. Book your boat ride and ponding dipping at the admissions desk for £3 per person. Read more.

Wakehurst

What – This Easter, Wakehurst will be celebrating one of the most read books in UK primary schools, as Roald Dahl’s iconic story The Twits is brought to life with an activity trail through the stunning springtime landscapes. Through each activity along the trail, children will discover how to be a force for good, overcoming the Twit’s treacherous tricks. A really fun Easter activity in Sussex and not an Easter bunny in sight. Read more.

How Much – You do not need to book the trail in advance, it costs £4 for an activity sheet and badge. Adults cost £18.50, young people aged 17-25 £9.25 with children aged 16 and under free with a paying adult. Entry is free if you are a National Trust member. Although you still need to pay £10 for parking.

Leonardslee Gardens

What – Lenardslee Gardens are running as Easter Egg Trail. A nature trail to discover how things grow, packed with fascinating facts, complete the sticker booklet along the trail, with a special prize waiting at the end. There are several different children’s craft workshops running at selected dates and times which need to be booked in advance. There is also a play park and a dolls house exhibition to explore. When – Leonardslee Gardens is open throughout the Easter holidays from the 2nd of April to the 21st of April, 9 am to 5 pm with the last admission at 2.30 pm.
Where – Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens, Brighton Road, Lower Beeding, RH13 6PP
How Much – £15.50 for adults, £8.50 for children a family ticket for one adult is £31.50 and for two £43. Under 5s are free.

Drusillas Zoo Park

What – There is so much going on at Drusillas Park and they are adding to it over the Easter holidays with a new Easter Egg Trail for 2025. For this super fun easter activity in Sussex. Follow the interactive app map along the zoo route to hunt for GIANT eggs hidden among the animals, solve the family-friendly clues. Along with over 80 animals to observe, indoor play areas, outdoor play areas, an adventure maze, unlimited turns on a whole host of family-friendly rides and Spark the new interactive sensory space. How Much – If you book tickets in advance you will save money compared to on the day prices. For everyone over the age of 2, tickets are £31.00 with a discount. Under 2s free. Entrance to Spark is £3 per person.

The Observatory Science Centre- Hailsham

What – The Observatory has several different Easter activities in Sussex running throughout the Easter holidays. Including two different workshops on chemistry, the astronaut academy and rocket science. One for 6-8-year-olds and one 9-11-year-olds. All sessions need to be booked online in advance via the website. Read More.

Where – The Observatory Science Centre, Herstmonceux, Hailsham, BN27 1RN
How Much – Booking online in advance is cheaper. Prices online are £11.50 for an adult, £9.50 for a child and £37 for a family of 4. Children under 0-3 are free.

Blackberry Farm Park

What – A series of Easter-themed activities in Sussex running over the holidays. There will be farm-hatched chicks and ducklings, kid goats, baby rabbits and guinea pigs as well as farm-born piglets and lambs. There is also an Easter egg hunt which through the egg-themed maze to win a treat at the end. Including indoor and outdoor play areas, tractor rides, animal handling, pony rides, and a whole host of farm animals. There is something for the entire family. Read More

How Much – Tickets can be booked online in advance up until 9 am on the day of arrival. If not you can buy them at the gate. Tickets for Blackberry Farm Park are £13.50 per person for those aged two and above. Pony rides can be booked upon arrival.

Knockhatch Adventure Park

What – There is so much to do! Although some of the activities do have additional costs associated with them. Cannon Arena, Chestnut Wood Adventure Playground, Children’s Farm, Dino Safari Simulator Ride, Enchanted Forest Mini Golf, Froggies Indoor Soft Play, Jumping Pillows, Lost World Playbarn, Owl Sanctuary, Owl Displays, Panning For Fossils, Pirate’s Cove Paddling Pool, Quadapillar Barrel Rides, The Sherlock Holmes Experience, Tommy Tractor Playbarn, Tractor Tom Ride and Wallaby Walkthrough. The paid-for activities which re available during school holidays are Bungee Trampolines – £3.99, Go Karts – £4.99 per kart per go, Mini Diggers – £1.00 per go and Mini Quads – £1.00 per go. How Much – Easter Holidays is classed as orange days where all of the rides are open. Therefore the prices are £22.49 for everyone over the age of 2.

Sharnfold Farm

What – The farm has been closed but it reopening for the Easter holidays. To celebrate they are offering half price tickets from the 29th of March until the 14th of April. All the usual fun on the farm. There is a play area and farm trail where you can meet all the animals. Including pigs, cows, chickens, sheep and alpacas. Not to mention the farm shop and cafe serving homemade cakes and snacks. There is also a whole host of activities for the children to enjoy. Read more.

How Much – Access to the farm costs £7.45 with online booking fee for anyone over the age of 3.

Easter Bunny Boat Trips – Chichester

What – Why not get on the water for this Easter activity in Sussex? A boat trip on the hunt for Easter bunnies on the Chichester canal. There will be Spring activities and treats. With refreshments available for all. Read more.
When – 11th April to the 21st April running three times a day at 10:00 am, 12:15 pm and 14:30 pm
Where – Chichester Canal, Basin Road, Chichester, West Sussex PO197DT
How much – Tickets must be booked in advance online and cost £17 for an adult or a child. There are a limited amount of infants that can travel for free but these must be booked in advance as well.

Hollycombe Working Steam Museum

What – There will be both the narrow-gauge railway and Garden Railway running. In the fairground, the Golden Gallopers, Steam Swings, Chair-o-Planes and Children’s Rides will be running. As well as rides the Road Steam, Portable Steam, Steam Farm, Museum Shop, Cafe and Gardens will also be open. Read more.
When – Open selected days over the Easter holidays, 18th April, 20th & 21st of April. Gates open from 11.30 am to 5 pm each day with rides from 12 noon.
Where – Hollycombe Steam In The Country, Iron Hill, Liphook, Hampshire, GU30 7LP
How much – Prices vary depending on the ticket selected. For gold tickets and ride as much as you like, adults cost £27.50, children £22 with under 3s being free. They also offer a two adult and two child ticket for £84.

Easter Egg Hunts in Sussex

I do think that going on an Easter Egg Hunt in Sussex is the boy’s favourite Easter day out. They often request we do our own at home on Easter Sunday. It must be something to do with all that yummy chocolate! Here is a round-up of some of the best Easter Egg hunts taking place in Sussex this year. Unsurprisingly there are several wonderful National Trust properties that are hosting their annual Easter egg hunt the same as past years.

Borde Hill Gardens

What – Spot the signs of Spring while following the adventures of Bertram Bunny. A daily story trail, crack the clues, and uncover Bertram’s secret password to receive a reward for your efforts. Featuring interactive games along the way, the trail is suitable for children aged 3 to 8 years old, with a separate activity sheet specifically designed for 9-12 year olds. Fuel up for your adventures with a delicious Easter-themed treat from the Gardeners’ Retreat Café before letting off steam in the Adventure Playground. National Trust Nymans

What – Nymans is running a Springfest Easter Trail. From blossom trees to bug hotels; butterflies to bluebells – there are lots to see and do on this fun and active Easter trail. £3.50 per trail with an Easter Egg prize. Pick you your Easter trail sheet at the entrance. This is our favourite Easter Egg Hunt in Sussex that takes place in a beautiful garden. Read more.
When – The Easter Egg Hunt Sussex will run from the 29th of March to the 21st April from 10 am to 5 pm with last entry at 4.30 pm although the car park opens at 9 am.

How Much – Entrance is free for National Trust members, prices without gift aid are £20 for an adult, £10 for a child and £50 for a family or £30 with one adult.

National Trust Petworth House & Park

What – This year Petworth House is running a Spring Festival and includes talks, demonstrations, a community art installation, art and craft workshops, and family activities. Dates and times vary for each see the website for more details. Read more.

Washbrook Farm

What – Follow the clues and spot where the coloured eggs are hanging whilst exploring, playing and seeing the animals at Washbrooks for the chance to win a prize. Washbrooks Family Farm has everything you need, indoor play areas, outdoor play areas, pedal tractors to ride on and plenty of opportunities to get up close to farm animals. Read more.

National Trust Sheffield Park & Garden

What – This year the Easter trail at Sheffield Park has a duck theme with lots of mallard-inspired activities. It’s the season when the garden comes alive with carpets of daffodils, and woodlands glowing with bluebells and rhododendron blossoms. The Easter Egg trail in Sussex costs £3.50 each and includes a dairy or a vegan and Free From chocolate egg. Read more.

National Trust Standen House

What – Standen House is running a family trail with Easter themed activities from skittles to cornholes. Can you spot the hares too? These are inspired by Philip Webb’s sketches, the architect who designed the house at Standen. With lots of delightful spring bulbs and bold displays of tulips. National Trust Bodiam Castle

What – Hop into action and take part in duck-themed activities at Bodiam Castle this Easter. As you make your way along the trail you’ll find nature-inspired activities for the whole family. Follow the trail and have a go at fun-filled games including hook-a-duck, egg and spoon and much more. Read more.

West Dean Gardens

What – Grab your Easter baskets and get ready to hop, skip, and jump along the Easter trail at West Dean Gardens. Forage for items along the way to use in our Easter-themed crafts and receive a chocolate treat if you can spot all the Easter eggs hidden along the way. Plus, come dressed in your best Easter fancy dress for a chance to win a prize. National Trust Batemans

What – As you make your way along the East Egg Hunt in Sussex, join in with fun with animal inspired games and activities. and enjoy the blossom and blooms in the spring garden. £3.50 per trail with an Easter Egg prize. Read more.

Wildness Woods

What – Follow the traditional Easter Egg Hunt bunny trail around the woods – can you solve the woodland anagram? Find spring poems, nestled amidst the trees. Open every day for walks and refreshments from The Hatch, with activities for all ages. More details to follow on their website. On Good Friday they are also offering Easter craft drop in sessions. How much – Admission for non-members for walks and picnics in the wood is £4 per person or £15 for a household, payable at The Hatch.

Easter Events in Sussex

There are a lot of special Easter Events in Sussex this year.

The Noviam Museum in Chichester

What – A must for Star Wars Fans. One of the UK’s finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters is now on display in The Novium Museum. May The Toys Be With You is both a celebration of the now highly collectable vintage toy line and of the iconic design work and art of the original Star Wars movies. Read more.
When – May The Toys Be With You is running until the 20th of April. There are quiet sessions available at certain dates and times. The museum is also open Tuesday to Friday 10 am to 4.30 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. Closed on Sundays and Mondays
Where – The Novium Museum, Tower Street, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1QH
How Much – Admission is free although certain exhibitions will be charged. The cost for May The Toys Be With You is £4 for adult, £2.50 for children and £12 for a family of four.

Mystery Trails

What – Whistlestop Arts have created seven FREE outdoor mystery trail games across the Horsham District. These immersive and exciting trails have broad appeal; play as a family, with friends, or use them as a team-building exercise. Read more.

Where – Across the towns and villages of Horsham, Southwater, Billingshurst, Pulborough, Henfield, Steyning and Storrington. Pick up your pack in the local library or you can download them from their website.

Weald & Downland Museum – The Secret Garden

What – This year the Museum is running its own Easter Egg Hunt in Sussex around the 40 acre site. There are also have a go activities going on around the museum. The bakers will be making fresh hot cross buns. There are also several other different activities going on including crafts, puppet show and story telling. When – Running from the 29th of March to the 14th of April.
Where – Weald & Downland Living Museum, Town Lane, Singleton, West Sussex PO18 0EU
How Much – Tickets can be pre-booked on the website. Entry starts at £15.50 for an adult, £7.50 for a child and £42 for a family of four. Under 5s are free.

Amberley Museum

What – Throughout the Easter holidays, find out about birds that nest at this time of year with our Bird Egg Easter Trail. On Wednesdays and Fridays (11am-3pm, not Good Friday), head to the Learning Space to try your hand at some seasonal weaving. On Friday 5 and 12 April, the popular West Sussex Woodturners will also be on hand to help you carve a wooden keepsake (£1.50 per piece). Read more.

Where – Amberley Museum, New Barn Road, Amberley, Near Arundel, West Sussex, BN18 9LT
How Much – Tickets can be booked online in advance and it is recommended for weekends, holidays and when they are running special events. This is to ensure there is a car park space. If you are travelling by train you do not need to pre-book. A family of two adults and up to three children costs £30.00 or £35.00 with gift aid. Adults £19.50/17 and children aged 5-16 £9.50/£8.50. Under 5s are free.

Ashdown Park Hotel – Easter Afternoon Tea

What – Easter Celebratory Afternoon Tea is much like their Traditional Afternoon Tea with some added few Easter-themed chocolate treats. To make it more appealing to the whole family. What a wonderful tasty Easter Event in Sussex. No details have been released yet for 2024. Although normal afternoon tea is still available and bookable on their website.
When – Bookings need to be made in advance.

How much – from £30 per person

Coombes Farm – Lambing

What – A 1000-acre working farm, there will be 800 ewes lambing and 50 Sussex cows calving. It is possible to see them being born and also hopefully feed some of the pet lambs. Take a walk in the fields and enjoy this traditional Easter event in Sussex. A trip to the local farm is one of the most affordable ways to celebrate the Long Easter weekend. Read More.

How much – Tickets can be booked in advance, £6 for an adult and £4 for a child. If you buy your tickets at the gate they cost an additional £1 each. It is also possible to book a tractor ride on the day for £4 each.

Arundel Castle – Medieval Festival

What – This is such a fun Spring event. It is 1216 and King John has summoned his loyal followers to meet him at Arundel to put down both a rebellion among his own Barons and a potential invasion from France. Set within a large tented encampment on the lower lawns of the castle, the three-day event will have demonstrations of 12th-century combat, archery and falconry, musicians, and have-a-go activities such as archery, and a craft tent. The Knights’ table will be serving a spectacular feast of beef, pork and plant-based Medieval Kababs served in a Lebanese flatbread with a choice of pickles and sauces. There will also be a Festival bar system with local beer, and cider along with cold snacks, water, soft drinks and hot drinks. A wonderful Easter event in Sussex. Lambing at Middle Farm

What – Celebrate the start of the farming year with Spring Lambing at Middle Farm. It makes the perfect Easter activity in Sussex. See our newborn lambs and join in the fun of bottle-feeding. See what’s going on down on the farm with timed events throughout the day. We do always try to visit a farm for lambing as it’s such a traditional Easter event in Sussex. Where – Middle Farm, West Firle, Lewes BN8 6LJ
How much – Tickets must be booked in advance for either a morning or an afternoon slot. The farm is open from 10 am to 4.30 pm. Tickets cost £8 per person with under 3s and carers being free. Morning runs from 10 am to 1 pm and afternoon from 1 pm to 4.30 pm. A full schedule of events is on their website to help decide which session is best for you.
