NERF Nitro MotoFury Rapid Rally Set Review

NERF Nitro MotoFury Rapid Rally Set Review: Monkey is a big fan of all things Nerf so when we were offered the chance to review the NERF Nitro MotoFury Rapid Rally Set we of course said yes. I was really interested to see what Monkey would make of it since it is really quite different from the other Nerf toys he has tried out. As rather than darts this one fired foam cars. We were also send a separate set of three cars.

NERF Nitro MotoFury Rapid Rally Set Review – So what is it?

Blast into overdrive with Nerf Nitro sets! Kids can create awesome stunts as they fire foam cars from blasters that feature the power and performance of the Nerf brand! Blast into stunts to go high, go far, go fast! Blast into motorized, rapid-fire stunt challenges with the Nerf Nitro MotoFury Rapid Rally set.

In the box you get:

  • The launcher itself which requires four AA batteries
  • A high-jump ramp
  • A long-jump ramp
  • 12 obstacles – these are tyres, crates and barrels
  • 9 cars, including 3 special ones available only in this set
  • Instructions

Monkey was very excited to put it to the test, there is no assembly needed other than to put the four AA batteries into the base. The next step is to load the 9 foam cars into the clip. The cars have plastic wheels but are very light and don’t hurt if they accidentally end up in your direction.

Our first impressions

He went about setting up the obstacles to be fired at, although he decided quickly that the ramp was much more fun as the cars seemed to aim in my direction. The cars come out super fast which really made him laugh, especially when they sent everything flying. The obstacles are really light so the effect can be quite dramatic.

The blaster has a view site on the top, which I tried to encourage Monkey to use to aim which I think will come in time as we use it more and more. Its pretty chunky so easy for him to use, especially as he is at the lower end of the age range which is five plus.

Things we love about NERF Nitro MotoFury Rapid Rally Set

  • The blaster has afoot at the bottom which means Monkey could only fire the cars if it was on the floor. This is a clever safety feature they have built into the toy.
  • You know what you are getting with this brand, a durable, well-made action toy.
  • I love the bright colours of the cars and the obstacles – it makes them visually appealing
  • It’s nice to have a Nerf toy that is not dart based the fact that there are obstacles and ramps included means it brings a different dimension to play. Although there was still a tendency for me to be the target. Just as well they didn’t hurt at all.
  • Loading the cars was really easy and something Monkey could do alone. If it did get jammed there is a door on the side of the blaster which allows you to see what is wrong and rejig them.

There are other blasters and sets in the range which start from £10.99. The NERF Nitro MotoFury Rapid Rally Set is one of the higher-priced ones. It retails at £49.99 and the set of three cars at £6.99. Monkey loves it so much and he happily plays with it alone for long periods of time. I am considering buying additional sets for playdates.

NERF Nitro MotoFury Rapid Rally Set is available from all good retailers in-store and online. Including The Entertainer, Smyths and Tesco. I would recommend this to all Nerf fans.

  2. Such a huge chunk of my childhood was spent firing a nerf gun towards my brothers and ducking when they returned fire. #BloggerClubUK

  4. My boys really want this and have been asking us for it everytime they see the advert. They have finished school and just looked at me reading this post and all they said was he looks like he is having so much fun #bloggerclubuk

  5. How much fun does that look! I’d love a go with than, but have to ask, do the cars get lost as easily as the Nerf bullets? #BloggerClubUK x

  6. My youngest has about a gagillion nerf guns and darts and bows and arrows around here, lol. He had something similar to the Nitro a while back but lost interest in it. He’s 10 now though so and is more interested in video games but he does love playing the Nerf Wars game with his older brother and his dad:) thanks so much for hosting #bloggerclubuk

  7. This looks like so much fun. I want a go! My daughter loves cars and if she could aim them towards me she would love them even more I think.! I’ll have to look into getting her one of these. X

  8. Oh my word, this is like child heaven. Who thought of this? It is superb and I adore the fact that a child can play along with this and still be content. A bit pricey but if your child uses it lots then it ends up being worth it. Mich x

  9. This loos like so much fun! It’s great when you find a toy that keeps your child happy for an extended period of time like this one, it’s well worth the money then. It’s also great that Monkey can load it himself!

  10. This looks like so much fun, Monkey must be having so much fun with it. Any toy that keeps them entertained for a while is a win for me and money well spent. It takes a lot for toys to keep their interest, so that is always a big plus x

  11. My youngest would love this so much!! He’s a bit little for it yet but he wouldn’t think so haha #bloggerclubuk
