There is something special about visiting a Christmas Market. It is something that we try to do at least once during the Christmas season. This year we visited Winchester Christmas Market which is surprisingly close to Surrey. However, if you are looking for something closer to home then there is a wide choice of Christmas markets in Surrey to choose from. Especially Guildford Christmas markets as they definitely seem to have their fair share this year.
I find buying Christmas presents so much easier at a good Christmas market. As you can usually pick up some beautiful crafts, delicious food and gifts you can not find on the high street. While surrounded by Christmas lights and a festive atmosphere.

Kingston Christmas Market
- When – 16th of November to the 31st of December 2023
- Where – Kingston Ancient Market Place, Kingston-Upon-Thames KT1 1JS
- Times – Sunday- Wednesday 10 am – 6 pm and Thursday -Saturday 10 – 8 pm. Later opening times for drinks and food.
If you are looking for a European-style Christmas market in a traditional British setting then this is one of the magical ones that take place throughout the month of December. You can enjoy the wonderful wooden chalets and pick up some amazing Christmas gifts for friends and family. There is also an assortment of street food, mulled wine and hot chocolate on offer so that you can really get into the Christmas spirit. This is a traditional Christmas market full of lots of festive fun. Plenty to enjoy and see for the whole family to have a wonderful time. The great thing about this one is that it is a long-running Christmas market so you can come back a few times if you wish. Definitely, one to get you in a festive mood.

Little Bookham Christmas Market

Little Bookham Christmas Market is an event full of festive treats, the finest food and even some mulled wine, taking place in the lovely rustic setting of Little Bookham’s Tithe Barn, in Surrey. It is the perfect way to kick-start your Christmas shopping this November. The Christmas Market welcomes over 30 makers and creators from across Surrey, with live entertainment from Utterly Unique and the opportunity to meet Father Christmas in the winter wonderland. All proceeds support the children and families who rely on Cherry Trees.

Bletchingley Christmas Gift & Craft Fair

This Christmas Market in Surrey is comprised of 22 stalls. There is also a Christmas Café serving an assortment of delicious food including, homemade cakes and light lunches. There will be the usual Christmas Raffle, Guess the Weight of the Christmas Cake and also Guess the Name of the Christmas Penguin. Entrance is £1 with under 18s being free.

Cranleigh Craft and Gift Market
- When – Running on the 25th of November 2023
- Where – Cranleigh Village Hall, Village Way, Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6 8AF
- Times – 10 am to 4 pm
Taking place in Cranleigh Village Hall, Cranleigh is called the largest village in Britain. A well-established Christmas market in Surrey which has been running in this venue for more than 8 years. They have established a list of regular stallholders who book to sell at the event every year. Potential for local cakes and hot drinks to also be on sale. There should be around 30 stalls of unusal Christmas gifts to purchase. Its sister event is being run in Guildford later in December if these dates are too early for you.

Brockham Christmas Craft & Gift Fair

Held in Brockham Village Hall on Brockham Green with 20+ stalls offering a huge variety of handmade crafts and gifts made by local craftspeople. Hot and cold refreshments including homemade cakes. Free entry.
The Big Purple Christmas Extravaganza
- When – 26th of November 2023
- Where – Garrison Lane, Chessington, Surrey, KT9 2JS
- Times – 12 pm to 6 pm
- Established in 2021 psychic & holistic fair to include crafts, gifts, homewares, Christmas decorations, toys, plus children’s entertainment so you get to do some xmas shopping with our artisan craft stalls and independent traders whilst the children have fun too. Entry cost is £5 with free parking.

Woking Pop-Up Winter Craft Fair
- When – 25th & 26th of November 2023
- Where – The Lightbox, Chobham Road, Woking, GU21 4AA
- Times – 10.30 am to 5 pm on Saturday and to 4 pm on the Sunday
There will be a range of stall holders, from crafts to art and design and an array of local designer/maker products in the gift shop. There is an onsite cafe for a hot drink and a bite to eat. You can also pre-book a Christmas wreath workshop, there are three sessions across the weekend.

Haslemere Christmas Market

Haslemere’s Annual Christmas Market in the town centre and Haslemere Museum with 200 stalls of gifts and refreshments. Something for all the family. Free Hoppa service from Shottermill, Lion Green, Weydown Road and the station.

Farnham Christmas Market

The market stretches from Castle Street and The Borough through to the Bush Hotel and Ivy Lane Club making it one of the busiest in the South East. The great news about this market is that there is so much to see and do. With over 150 stalls for you to look around with an assortment of gift ideas, crafts, accessories and plenty of Christmas items. You can also enjoy lots of delicious street food. There is a real focus on small and local businesses making this a great opportunity to buy some unique gifts you might not be able to order online. Don’t miss out!

Guildford Farmers Market

The Farmer’s Market takes place on the first Tuesday of every month. During the market, you will get the opportunity to buy high quality fresh local produce directly from over 50 local farmers and producers at Guildford’s monthly Farmers’ Market, held in the historic cobbled High Street. This is your chance to stock up on some Christmas essentials as the usual market will take place on the 6th of December and there will be a special festive version of the farmer’s Guildford Christmas market on the 20th of December.

This is a great Guildford Christmas market event that was once a one-day event but has now been extended to a two-day festival this year. You will find lots of Christmas stalls to look around and Christmas raffle draws to get involved in. If you plan on heading to the market with younger children they will have a chance to visit Father Christmas in Santa’s grottos. For anyone competitive or who loves the great British Bake Off there will also be a baking competition. There is lots to see and do and enjoy things such as music from a local ukulele group to Dashing Donkey Rides. A lovely event that the whole family will enjoy this Christmas. Entry is free for this event so it is worth popping in the diary.

Guildford Festive Vegan Market

This is a lovely Guildford Christmas outdoor market that is dedicated to offering products that are vegan. Anything from eco-lifestyle products, artisan food and drink, as well as other wonderful gift ideas, from brilliant small and local businesses. Parking is close by in the town centre and near the train station and this is a lovely chance to enjoy an evening soaking in the festive twinkly lights and amazing things to buy.

Denbies Wine Estate – Christmas Pop Up

You need to book tickets in advance for this Surrey Christmas Market which can be done on the RHS website. It is a very popular event. Browse and purchase from some of the UK’s finest contemporary artists and makers, offering a variety of unusual and original designs to suit all tastes, including a stunning collection of jewellery and stylish silverware.
A good one for families since there is so much to do at RHS Wisley Gardens for kids.
Newlands Corner Christmas Pop-Up

The Arts & Artisan Christmas Market celebrates the best of Surrey’s fine arts, crafts and artisanal produce in conjunction with Surrey Hills Enterprises. One of the best places to find a Christmas present made in the local area.
The Little Christmas Fair

Hampton Court Palace Festive Fayre

Reigate Business Guild

The Christmas Fayre is by far the busiest day of the year in Reigate and a wonderful way to kick-start the Christmas Season. The Christmas Light switch on is at 4.30 pm. Church Street will be closed from 6 am to 7.30 pm. There is a whole host of fantastic stalls offering food, drink and gifts. There is a wonderful Tombola and Chocolate Tombola which helps to raise funds towards the Christmas Lights Appeal.
A fully booked stage at the western end of Church Street with a number of local schools, clubs and colleges providing entertainment throughout the day and Santa will also make a surprise appearance on the roof of the Old Town Hall after the light switch on. An event full of festive cheer
