The Best Pantomimes in Surrey 2022

One of our Christmas traditions is to go to a family pantomime. We are really fortunate as we have a splendid theatre in the town where we live, there are some great Christmas Pantomime in Surrey. We normally visit between Christmas and New Year although the pantomime season can last a lot longer than that. There are lots of reasons to visit a panto, there is something about the audience participation, laugh-out-loud comedy, spectacular scenery and breathtaking special effects. It is such a great day out for th entire family.

There are lots of choices when it comes to Pantos in Surrey. If you are aware of any Pantomimes in Surrey that have missed. Then please let me know in the comments below and I will add them to the list. Likewise, when this post went live at the end of November there were still tickets available for all the Christmas shows mentioned. However many do sell out so if you come across ones this festive season that have then let me know and I will update the post. 

Pantomimes in Surrey

Here is the wide choice of Pantmomines in Surry this year. Including Pantomimes in Guildford and Pantos in Kingston. Where there is a recommended age range I have included this in the description. Which is the case for some of the Christmas shows for younger children. I have also stumbled across some Christmas ballets which I have also included. Let me know your favourite Panto in Surrey.

Yvonne Arnaud Theatre

  • Pantomime – Jack and the Beanstalk 
  • Location – Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Millbrook, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 3UX
  • Dates – From 3rd of December to Sunday 8th of January 
  • Show times – Various times. Afternoon showings at 1 pm or 2.30 pm depending on the day. Evening times are from 5 pm or 7 pm depending on the day. Check the website. 
  • Ticket Prices – From £20 with concessions for children and families
  • This is one of the classics that this cast is going to have so much fun with. Jack trades his beloved cow for magic beans without realising the giant consequences that await him. A fantastic family pantomime that has lots of different times including a one-off morning show. Tickets need to be bought from the online box office. This spectacular pantomime is suitable for people of all ages. We loved Jack and the beanstalk last year.

New Victoria Theatre

  • Pantomime – Cinderella 
  • Location – The Peacocks Centre, Woking GU21 6GQ
  • Dates – From 2nd of December to Saturday 31st of January 
  • Show times – 1 pm, 2 pm, 5 pm and 7 pm depending on the day you choose to go
  • Ticket Prices – From £13 with concessions
  • Cinderella goes from rags to riches in this classic fairytale that is adapted for a pantomime in the perfect way. This is a great one for families and is hilarious. With Brian Conley starring as lovable Buttons, you really can’t go wrong with this one. There are lots of showings through to the end of December with afternoon and evening performances. A true rags-to-riches story with great interaction with audience members.

Haslemere Hall

  • Pantomime – Dick Whittington
  • Location – Bridge Road, Haslemere, Surrey, GU27 2AS
  • Dates – Friday 13th of January to Saturday 21st of January 
  • Show times – Various times from 11 am showings to evening performances at 7.30 pm
  • Ticket Prices – From £10 with a £1 booking fee
  • This year’s panto is a story where good fights evil and prevails, boys dress as girls and girls dress as boys, and true love spreads happiness over the land. This is an eight-performance run in January with various performance times depending on the day you book. The ticket prices are low and this panto promises to deliver all aspects of family entertainment including some great dance numbers.

Dorking Halls

  • Theatre Show – Cinderella 
  • Location – Reigate Rd, Dorking RH4 1SG
  • Dates – 17th of December to Wednesday 28th of December 
  • Show times – 1 pm and 5 pm on most days with Christmas eve offering 12.30 pm and 4.30 pm times. 
  • Ticket Prices – £22.50 with concessions. Family tickets offer better value.
  • You can’t beat Cinderella. It is such a classic when it comes to pantomimes. This one is performed on dates throughout December with different times to suit each day. So you are bound to find something that suits your family. Buttons, Prince Charming, the ugly sisters and Cinderella herself with some fab dance routines. A lovely pantomime for the whole family with great songs.

Rhoda McGaw Theatre

  • Pantomime – A Christmas Carol 
  • Location – The Ambassadors, Victoria Way, Woking, GU21 6GQ
  • Dates – 20th of December to 31st of December 
  • Show times – 5 pm and 8 pm 
  • Ticket Prices – Starts from £18.15. Some concessions will be available. 
  • The ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and the Future that will change the skinflint Scrooge into one who honours Christmas in his heart and strives to keep it all the year. Such a wonderful Christmas story that has been adapted to become an entertaining pantomime that families will enjoy. Early showings and relaxed performance are available for younger children.

The Harlequin Theatre & Cinema

  • Pantomime – Cinderella 
  • Location – Warwick Rd, Redhill RH1 1NN
  • Dates – Running till the 31st of December
  • Show times – Afternoon and evening times are available depending on the date. 
  • Ticket Prices – start from £15 depending on the day and time you attend. 
  • The nation’s favourite Olympic ski jumper Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards, makes his pantomime debut, starring as Cinderella’s down-on-his-luck father, Baron Hardup. This year’s stellar cast includes Casualty’s Rebecca Wheatley as our Fairy Godmother, comedian Phil Reid as Buttons and irrepressible, award-winning uglies Dean Horner and Oliver Gray. It wouldn’t be a Harlequin panto without much-loved Redhill regular Simon Bashford, who hangs up his skirts this year to bring his enthusiasm and flare to the role of Dandini. An all-star cast promising lots of entertainment and plenty of traditional pantomime mayhem.

Barn Theatre

  • Dates – 13th to the 21st of January 
  • Show times – Afternoon and evening performances are available depending on the date you choose, 1.30 pm, 5.30 pm, and 7.30 pm
  • Ticket Prices – Tickets start from £13 with concessions available. 
  • A classic pantomime and one you can enjoy in the quieter month of January after all of the Christmas rushes. Fairytale magic of traditional pantomime, Cinderella is such a wonderful pantomime and is a classic that children love of all ages. A great option if you were looking for something to do after Christmas and some new year’s fun.

Rose Theatre Kingston

  • Theatre Show – A Christmas Carol
  • Location – 24-26 High St, Kingston upon Thames KT1 1HL
  • Dates – 2nd of December to the 2nd of January 
  • Show times – Various times depending on the day. Morning performances at 11 am, early evening from 5 pm and later evening times. 
  • Ticket Prices – Prices start from £15. Seats closer to the stage are more expensive. 
  • Enjoy some festive magic with a dose of time travel as the beloved Rose Christmas show returns. This is a show that they recommend is great for children over the age of 5. There are some darker subjects with ghosts and time travel, but this classic has been adapted into a wonderful and entertaining pantomime that you can enjoy throughout December with spectacular costumes.

The Leatherhead Theatre

  • Pantomime – Snow White
  • Location – 7 Church St, Leatherhead KT22 8DN
  • Dates – 17th – 30th of December 
  • Show times – Morning performances at 10.30 am. Afternoon performances at 2.30 pm and evening performances at 6.30 pm.
  • Ticket Prices – Prices start from £19.50 for adults. There are concessions available and children’s ticket prices. There is a £1.50 cost on top of the ticket price which goes towards ongoing restoration works. 
  • An evil stepmother (wicked queen), no longer the fairest in the land, threatens to put an end to her beautiful stepdaughter but can true love find a way and save her? Along with the seven dwarfs, this is a lovely pantomime that children of all ages will love. Includes wonderful music and colourful costumes.

Camberley Theatre

  • Pantomime – Beauty and the Beast
  • Location – Knoll Rd, Camberley GU15 3SY
  • Dates – 10th of December to the 31st of December
  • Show times – Morning performances at 10.30 am. Afternoon performances at 2 pm and evening performances at 6 pm. Other times on certain dates. 
  • Ticket Prices – Ticket prices from £27. Concessions are available. 
  • This unmissable story will delight the whole family featuring a jukebox of much-loved songs, beautiful costumes and a talented cast of actors and dancers. It is a lovely story and one the whole family will enjoy watching. Full of lots of laughs, fun and entertainment.

Epsom Playhouse

  • Pantomime – Dick Whittington
  • Location – 42 Ashley Ave, Epsom KT18 5AL
  • Dates – 15th of December to the 8th of January 
  • Show times – Mornings at 10 am. Afternoons and evenings at various times depending on the day. 
  • Ticket Prices – Prices start from £15.50 – £24
  • A truly magical panto classic. Follow Dick, his loyal cat and various characters he meets, as he seeks fame and fortune in London town! A colourful, musical adventure that is just a wonderful experience for all of the family.

Richmond Theatre

  • Pantomime – Goldilocks and the Three Bears 
  • Location – 1 Little Grn, Richmond TW9 1QH
  • Dates – 3rd of December to the 31st of December 
  • Show times – Afternoon performances at 1 am or 2 pm depending on the day. Evening performances from 5 pm or 7 pm depending on the date. 
  • Ticket Prices – Prices start from £20 with tickets closer to the stage costing more. Concessions are available. 
  • Not quite the classic but a great adaption for panto Goldilocks’ circus is under threat from an evil rival circus owner and, with the help of their madcap circus friends, they’re battling to rescue their Big Top from ruin. Will they succeed? All seems lost until three brilliant bears join the gang. A fun event for the whole family. Starring Matt Baker this is one not to miss out on.

The Archway Theatre

  • Pantomime – Binderella 
  • Location – The Drive, Horley RH6 7NQ
  • Dates – 13th of January to 28th of January 
  • Show times – afternoon and evening performances are available depending on the day. 
  • Ticket Prices – Prices start from £13.50
  • Binderella has had it tough lately. Knobs, her beloved family robot blew up, her father has been absent for years, presumed lost in space, and her stepmother and stepsisters despise her. Her only real friends are the bin people at the local Refuse Incineration Centre. But perhaps her luck is about to change. A great alternative to the classic and one to look out for next year.
