Little Live Pets Review – A Pet For Families That Travel

If you are followers of Mudpie Fridays then you know as a family we travel a lot. Every school holiday we try to get away, be that here in the UK or further afield. Recently Harry turned eight and for his birthday he asked for a puppy a golden retriever to be exact. With all the travelling we do it would not be fair to have a puppy. In time we may change our travelling habits as school becomes more important for the boys but at the moment we have no plans, which is why I was so pleased to find out about Little Live Pets. As it turns out these adorable toys are the perfect solution.

What are Little Live Pets

So what are Little Live Pets? They are a popular line of interactive toys designed to mimic the behaviours and sounds of real animals. Designed to move, make sounds, and respond to touch, providing children with a lifelike pet experience without the responsibilities that come with owning a real animal. This means that Harry can learn all about having a pet and the responsibilities it requires ahead of us actually getting one.

We will likely give in at some point although a dog is not on the cards in the short term, a rabbit our guinea pig may be. By enjoying interacting and playing with his Little Live Pets it is a great way for him to learn how to care for a pet and develop the habits he needs to have real pets.

Little Live Pets were created by Moose Toys, an Australian company known for producing innovative and engaging children’s products and are avaliable to purchase from Very. Each Little Live Pets come with their own unique features here are a few we tested out.

Little Live Pets My Puppy’s Home Playset

Let’s start with his favourite Little Live Pets toy. Unsurprisingly the puppy is his favourite or should I say Gordon which is what he called it. However, before the puppy can arrive Harry had to build his little home. Putting it together it piece by piece with the supplied screws and hammer. He loved building it excited to meet his new toy pet. Before he could he needed to choose and name and layout water, which magically created paws and the arrival of a puppy. Which came with its own birth certificate.

There are step-by-step instructions and also details of how to reload the puppy into the roof, so you can create its arrival all over again. The perfect gift for young kids it makes a wide range of different sounds including little barks, snores and wimpers. It will also chew its bone if placed into its mouth, lick you and even beg for attention just like a real dog. Batteries are needed but were provided. He is by far Harry’s favourite, the new dog house is currently a permanent feature in our lounge and he likes making the paws appear time and time again on the welcome mat. Little Live Pets Mama Surpise Guinea Pigs

I was really impressed with this set, it is substantial with the cage coming premade. Instead, the interactive element of this comes when the mama guinea pig births not one but three baby guinea pigs. In order for Mama to birth her babies she needs to feel loved. This is done by feeding, cuddling and brushing her with the enclosed accessories. There is even some paper straw which you can pop in her cage. Once she feels loved a little heart will appear on her cage above the door and this is when the magic happens. A little baby will appear after 15 minutes, it took me right back to when I was a little girl and our guinea pig had arrived from the pet shop pregnant.

Although the first one takes 15 minutes the following two will take place over 10 hours each. Although in between you need to show your new pets some love to make the heart reappear. There is a fast mode if you think it could be needed. And you can also hide the babies back inside the cage to go through the same process next time. Little Live Pets Mama Surprise Minis – Lil’ Bunny

This is a very cute set that Harry is very keen on. Operating along a similar line as above but on a smaller scale making it great for travel. Mummy Bunny needs to be fed and watered just like the real thing. By filling the water bottle it activates some magic which means that there will be some new baby bunnies in around sixty minutes. They come with their own cute accessories and also a birth certificate. With an RRP of £19.99 it is currently on sale for £16.99.

Little Life Pets Surprise Chick

This little one came all the way to France with us! The little chick will hatch from his own egg if you follow the instructions correctly. He is quite a character and probably my favourite from the bunch. It is difficult not to fall in love with the little thing which is covered in a blue fizzy material. Because of their size and price point, they make a really good gift idea for birthday parties. With an RRP of £14.99 it is currently on sale for £12.99. Little Live Pets Scruff-A-Luvs Real Pets

Harry loves a cuddly toy so I thought he would love a Little Live Pets Scruff-A-Luvs. There is a choice of a kitten, puppy or bunny. Although you have no idea what you are going to get. After removing the bundle of fur from its carry case you need to wash it to remove the matted fur and unravel your new pet. Inside the box there is also a comb to help, as well as a collar and adoption certificate. So you can welcome him/her into your new home. After washing out the little kitten we dried him off with a towel. With an RRP of £16.99 it is currently on sale for £15.99

Little Love Pets are a great selection of animal toys aimed at younger children. Harry has loved playing with them and we have only covered a fraction here. There are so many others that need homes, which one would you choose?
